I would like to add on, however, that while you are under no obligation to obey what the text says, or what the rules regarding the flag are, it is generally considered good societal behavior to be cognizant and respectful of objects that hold significance for others, even if you have no intention of actually accepting or adopting the doctrines they espouse.
