And then...
...well, nothing, really. Ate out (Applebee's... and no, I'm not sure why.) and came home to watch some of Most Extreme Elimination Challenge. Needed something inane and funny (in the sense of laughing at other people's stupidities) to de-exam myself. I don't know what I'll do tomorrow or when I'll decide to head for home. Yeah, home. Dial-up, here we come. Then back for rehearsal hell before Pasadena. There's still rehearsal there, but mostly performance gigs. Look for the MMB trombone section come January 1 at the Rose Bowl and you'll have a good chance of seeing me. Whee!
I took a wandering around Jack Chick Publications' website (www.chick.com) because I wondered whether he had put any new tracts (Be forewarned: Chick and his compatriots are Back to Bible people with no tolerance for any other religion or denomination - the tracts are against Catholics and Jehovah's Witnesses as well as Muslims and Witches. I recommend going only if you can stand stuff like that.) He delivered... there are some new ones there, although I'm not sure which ones may have appeared in my absence... the one marked "New!" equated Islam with homicide bombing. I perused some interesting stuff from a born-again who claimed to have gone through all sorts of occult experiences (the book on Wicca, by that title, denounces it squarely as nothing more than veiled Satan-worship.) only to find the "true way". Of course, I re-read the articles on D+D that were there and smiled. I don't do D+D, but our author did update at least into the Harry Potter era. (there was a nice swipe at Ms. Rowling's material as an inducement to people to practice occult Satan-worship, much like how D+D draws people into it.) Ah, well. It's people like this that genuinely worry me.
Enough of this stuff. It's probably some sort of celestial marker that I'm doing all this stuff. Significance unknown, or maybe as a reminder of what I'm not. Identity by negation, maybe? Anyway, I think I'm going to bed soon. LotR will wait for me, I'm sure. Maybe tomorrow, if I can get a posse together we'll go see it.
