A lot of the people complaining with that logic are either in a cushy position where that kind of expense wouldn't kill their finances completely (or know someone who is) and are saying, "What? No bread? Let them eat cake!", or have been so thoroughly screwed up by the Republican Christian ideology that says "The poor are lazy, artists are a drain on society, and anyone who wants help from me had better be ready to properly grovel and be indebted. They have to deserve it, which, being poor or just out of college, they never will."
