"Why they matter and need to be taken into account"? Are you seriously telling me that the jobs that different groups choose to do - and the wages that those jobs pay - isn't a necessary aspect to take into account? Because when you do take those things into account - you know, actually hold the study true to the "equal work" part of the phrase - the inequality of pay vanishes.
