As always, reality is pesky in the face of one's fantasies and must be deleted at all costs. that said, it did seem like Republicans were much better at getting their coalition partners to agree to do something than the Democrats appear to be right now. I would say that's because the Democrats have a significantly wider range of possibilities, but I'm sure there are such people as liberal Republicans.
