Not too strange. But then again, I also outline in a way that I have a suspicion of who the characters are and what they're doing, and then I let it play out and see if I was right. Sometimes I have to add someone or something in there to get past a block, and sometimes another character steps in and gets the scene moving in the direction that I want to go.
I'm always tempted to write the big exciting stuff first, but that's usually the end of it, and I try to save that for when I'm not feeling motivated to write what I've got in front of me. Or when I'm really blocked and need the future narration to show me how I get around that thing.
