Weekend's done.

And I had some fun, going home and hanging out with the family and recharging a bit before the exam on Tuesday. I hope I do okay on it - it's not in my strong suit, which is analysis, as opposed to mere memorization.

Anyway, that was the highlight of my day. I came back to find out that we could be close to emotional manipulation devices. No fear or sadness, only peace. They described Zeal like that, and we saw what happened to it.

Plus, the bureaucrats aren't as fond of Emperor Norton's Bridge as the rest of us were. More's the pity. As are the reasons - pitiful.

That, and if you feel the need... the need for speed, then look no farther. This'll be fast enough for ya. However, if your need is weed, instead, then try this. Between the two, you should be just fine...

And yes, it's been tossed all over the blogosphere so far, but it's something that bears repeating. 44% say Muslim civil liberties should be restricted. Now, there's no data in that article that says what severity of restrictions people favor, and the sample size is a bit small, only 715 people, so things may be inflated a tad. What perhaps makes this a bit more frightening is that people associate it with the eleven state marriage amendments and the narrow Bush victory in the election, and suddenly things get much scarier. If this trend should prove to be true over the nation, all it would take would be some backbenchers to waffle and bad things could happen.

It is ill-advised to start trying to make minority groups into second-class groups - there's a chance they might all form a coalition and put you under their thumb instead. Better have good relations, since the majority lives in a glass house, if not a house of cards. Do stuff like dropping gold coins in charity buckets instead.

It's scapegoating, really, and today's Muslims are the medieval's Jews. We made that mistake once - let's not repeat it. There are also some people who are taking the Jewish motif one step further, and appending a Sieg Heil onto the end of it. It certainly has the potential to go that way, but I don't think it has yet.

Oh, yeah. Apparently, G.W. Bush is Time's "Man of the Year". Anyone got a Demotivator for that to play counterbalance? Influential, perhaps, but in mostly the wrong ways for the wrong reasons. Bush joins the esteemed company of people like Hitler, Khomeni, and Stalin. Hey, maybe the bit about one death and a million deaths really is true...

Reads like the device out of "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep"

you know I missed that entire paragraph. I often skip opening statements and move right to the meat in longer articles.
