And another season comes to a close.

And it went out in the same sort of fashion that things have been all year. Many games that were winnable slipped through our fingers because the offense didn't execute and the defense was being too heavily pressured. (Actually, that's not entirely true. The offense did execute their plays... they just happened to be three-yard gains on down like third and fifteen.) The defense kept us in it by giving the offense short fields to work with. The referees kept us in it by throwing pass interference flags at fortunate times (they were right calls, I think the impartial observer would say). The offense, however, couldn't do a thing. But Penn State made it a moot point anyway, so [livejournal.com profile] annaonthemoon's happy. It's been a wild ride in the conference this year. Maybe next year we'll win those kinds of games that we've been losing for a while now.

Afterwards, I went out curling with some friends - very cool. Wish we had an ice sheet closer than an hour's drive away, or we'd do this thing regularly. I did okay for skipping, although I couldn't really find a touch for throwing a rock (either too short or too long most of the time). One of the people there, though, threw a nice draw that landed pretty square on the button. Best shot of the set, and then I called down a takeout on it because it wasn't my side that threw it. All in all, very fun.

While not cruel (in my opinion), this certainly serves as an unusual punishment: abandoning kittens will net you a night out in the cold. They'll make sure she doesn't freeze and die, but no shelter, just clothing. Very interesting.

You know how it was said (is said?) that Angelina Jolie keeps a vial with some blood of Billy Bob Thorton in it? Well, someone's offering the next best thing - breath in a bottle. (If this is satire, I can't find it.)

I'm not sure whether fan-mixed music videos count as being part of fair use or not, but nearly two thousand anime music videos were taken down after a cease-and-desist came through from an "unnamed label". Apparently, the music syndicate didn't like the idea. I think it's a bit like shooting oneself in the foot to enforce the copyright when one could just say "No, we didn't make them, but our fans do." and let the sheer number say something about the popularity or appropriateness of your music to animation. Anime's a grey area as it is with regard to distributions before distributions and other such things.

Meep. Best taken with Fnord.

Maybe tomorrow I'll do a little work and spend the rest of it lounging about. Or tomorrow I might do a lot of work and spend some of it lounging around. Depends on how active I'm feeling tomorrow. Oh, yeah. And I should probably submit that one thing now, while I'm thinking about it.... done. G'night.

In addition to the jail time, Murray must pay $3,200 restitution to the Lake County Humane Society and $500 to the Metroparks. The judge also ruled that she can no longer own pets.

Really, what good is the fine?! SHE KILLED BABY KITTIES! Personally, I like the sentence of being forced to stay out all night like she did to the kittens and not being allowed to ever own a pet again...but I bet she'd somehow get around that. Imean, if you move to another state, they're not going to know you can't own an animal.

*cuddles her will* He was found in an alley in Lancaster on January 2, 2004. Thank goodness he didn't freeze out there or I wouldn't have my baby.

And yes, I'm oh so proud of my boys. Totally an unexpected season for us, given the previous several seasons. :D It's good to be a PSU Alum.
