silveradept: A kodama with a trombone. The trombone is playing music, even though it is held in a rest position (Default)

Just like that.

The other midterm's done, and it was a pain in the rump. Tomorrow, we finish redings, make writings, and, actually, plot more writings. There's a neverending supply, yaaaar!

A new feature - dueling preachers! Round one is Pat Robertson's comment that Muslims are Satanic. Real bright, there, but only matched by Jerry Falwell's "Jews are going to hell" comment.. You decide who's more boneheaded.

Beyond that, for the aspiring and experienced writers - to do well, forget genre. If you start writing to genre, you will begin to look like genre. Let the editors and marketers figure that part out.

Peter Tomarkin stopped on the ultimate whammy. That's just uncool. Rest in peace.

Onion's take on why we need more nuclear reactors - more chances for superheroes. Are we talking Superman endings or Watchmen endings, though? And that'll have competition from the people who want their kids to be environmentalists. If you want that, then make sure they play outdoors in the wild a lot before age 11 or so.

One problem on the way to being solved about self, at least in some form. Must conduct more research, really, to get an accurate picture of what it entails and how it affects people. May have to be very careful around myself to avoid really doing something bad, especially unintentionally so.

I loved this...
In a statement later Monday, Robertson said he was referring specifically to terrorists who want to bomb innocent people as being motivated by Satan.

So GWB and the Republicans are motivaed by Satan? Good to know!

The forget genre guy is spot on by the way. You'll never get anywhere trying to work within a defined genre and you've got to read as wide a selection as you can.

The host of Comedy Central's Distraction had a line a few weeks ago, "18 years after Chernobyl and still no superheroes."

We might get better results by stopping the cleanup of superfund sites. I think we have more heroes in the comics from toxic goo than from radiation, though I could be mistaken.

And that would be infinitely cheaper than building more nookleer reactors.

The one thing that made me laugh was when Robertson said, "The goal of Islam, ladies and gentlemen, whether you like it or not, is world domination."

Last time I checked, that also went towards Christendom and was one of the main catalysts for the Crusades, the Inquisitions and the exploration & conversions of the New World & Africa.

The phrase about The Pot and The Kettle seems to be most appropiate.

Pat Robertson? Asshole? Why, yes! What made you think so?

Yarha, Opinion: Confirmed

It's just kind of him to reaffirm our opinion of him every now and then.

Could be termed the 'Asshole factor update', where one 'pings' people so often to check if they're still assholes.
