We're here!

I see that the two attempts at voice posting I had did not become public, mostly because there was probably some juju I was supposed to do and then didn't. Anyway, I'm arrived at destination, am going to try and find an apartment today and get things stocked. So, drive was successful - 44 police vehicles seen in the three days. And now, off to finding a place to live. Whoo-hoo!

(And I hate you all in a totally not-hate way, because when I get set up, I'm going to have to go through a hellish backscroll.)

ooh, if I had known, I'd have told you they weren't showing.

you have to press # when you are done, then 3 to make it public :)

miss talking to you.

You might notice I kept my output low, just for such an occasion.

welcome to washington... you've arrived just in time for the rainy season, which lasts until june or july...

But aren't you and Oregon suffering from numerous wildfires? I would've thought they had been dealt with already. I'm sure Al probably had fun driving through some smoke on I-94.

[identity profile] przxqgl.livejournal.com 2007-08-26 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
if washington experiences wildfires, they are usually in eastern washington, which is a lot more like a desert. here in western washington, we have the cascade mountains which collects all the rain that comes in off the pacific ocean and dumps it here before continuing onward... it's rare that we have a wildfire in western washimgton... although not unheard of... also, in western washington we have a few volcanoes, but it's pretty difficult to mistake a volcano eruption for a wildfire...

and where is I-94? I-90 runs east and west from seattle, and I-84 runs east and west from portland, but i've never heard of I-94 going in or out of washington at all... could it be idaho or montana?

I apologize for my misnomenclature. Interstate 94 runs from Detroit to Washington State but it merges with Interstate 90 in the Chicago area. I haven't really gone past Chicago save one time in my youth and that was Interstate 74 westbound out of Indianapolis for Missouri. Out by you & Al, it would be I-90 for Washington.

for that matter, I-90 runs from washington all the way to boston. i lived at the other end of it many years ago.

Glad to see you made it there safely. Good luck with the final stages of transplantation.

Hopefully you didn't see any of those 44 cop cars with lights flashing behind you :) Glad to hear you made it to your new town. When does work start?
