The beginnings - Early 4 November 2008

It's election day. Prepare for long lines, extended hours, and a turnout that will probably be legendary. Be part of that turnout. GO VOTE. Even if it looks like the media is calling the game over, go vote. Because based on the last two elections, they have no track record for accurate prediction. The gamblers might be better at it than the media. And besides, there's more than just Presidencies being decided at your polls.

The first few results are in at this hour, and they indicate Senator Obama. It means next to nil, but it gives the talking heads, pundits, and Bill O'Rly something to talk about until the rest of the results come in. (Saw Bill'O on CBS Sunday Morning, which was very interesting. From the way he was, we might have believed that he believes that he truly is a No-Spin Zone.)

Just in time for the election, a new Troopergate report that clears Governor Palin of any ethical wrongdoing. Hrm... so whose report is to be believed now?

And again, GO VOTE. If you are an Obama supporter and want inspiration, or a McCain supporter and want a reason to shut him down, either way, go vote. But wait for the drinking afterward.

i can't help thinking it's awesome that there has been such long lines all over... people taking a greater interest in public issues is always a good thing
