Today was a slow day at work, and yet, today was an interesting day at work - I got to sort cable for a good portion of it. That was, well, less than optimally interesting, especially since I needed to separate the cable types from each other. The workspace got a bit cluttered, shall we say. And it kept needing more room (kind of like a certain operating system that I know about). And I get to do more of it on Thursday, I suspect.

But that's not important, really. What is important? Laser Tag, of course. This is a Do-It-Yourself thing, but if you've ever wanted to live out your FPS fantasies... this may be as close as you'll get. Unless you outsource, that is. That, however, could be more expensive than you think.

Apparently, even in Congress they're drawing some parallels between the Administration and the Third Reich. Some people think they're right. If they really do plan on turning the nation into a dictatorship, will someone give me enough advance warning so I can fortify myself against it?

So much to do, so little time. So tomorrow, I'll try to get it all done in time. Plus there’s thesis revision to be done - I got back a commented paper and looked it over. Hopefully this part's not the hardest of them all.

Well, sort of, anyway. I did all the tasks I wanted to do today, including picking up a copy of the thesis, getting a haircut and an oil change.

And apparently I show my emotional state more than I think - had a message for me about how I should talk to one of my housemates if I'm having problems with living here. Well, I'm not having trouble living here, it's just that I got annoyed a bit when communication about issues was usually in the form of ultimata or the written equivalent of shouting. I know one part of my nature resents being yelled at, especially suddenly. You get much better results out of me if you ask nicely before things get out of hand. Just the way I am, and it prevents me from fostering grudges, really, if you do it early on.

It's silly to admit, but when it comes to housekeeping, I'm generally clueless. I'll let things go probably farther than other people do. I had this problem last year too, and we managed to work it out. I claim ignorance as to knowing what is the acceptable amount of clean/not clean at any given time - clean for me (if you've ever seen my room, you know this) is different than for other people. So I got some tips from a different housemate of mine, and I think I can do better about not pissing everybody off (it's just one of those things I do naturally, I guess.)

So maybe I'll just sing a PETA*-approved childhood rhyme. (*PETA - People for the Eating of Tasty Animals)

Or perhaps I'll rage on about Corporate Libertarianism - somehow, the idea of leaving corporations to do as they will seems, well, scary. Didn't we have some sort of book about that somewhere... I think Phillip K. Dick's Ubik is pretty close, but I'm not sure.
