Aug. 24th, 2005 10:22 pmIt appears that Mr. Robertson's remarks were not intended to be taken as a threat against Mr. Chavez's life. Mind you, the alternative he suggested, such as a kidnapping, was not exactly the kind of things that would make me fond of him.
In other reality-warping moments today, someone's starting to get a handle on how to make light go faster than light. But before you simply sit down in stunned silence, have a look at your intended perch. Someone might be actively trying to make you not sit there. Which seems strange, odd, and all sorts of anti-social to me.
It's now less than a week until I start doing college-related things again. I'm still a little nervous as to whether I can actually hack this thing. I think I can, I think I can... but I'll know soon enough. Hearing the new marching band troops is slightly nostalgic. Not yet enough to make me want to be out there (that won't start until the first football game), but reminding me that I decided not to do it because I worried about my studies. I think it's the right decision, but again, I won't know until later. I guess I like second-guessing myself. At the same time, I am not SuperStudent, no matter what anyone else might say. One of my housemates made an excellent score on his LSATs. I think that trumps my reasonably good GRE scores. Different intelligences, perhaps.
Anyway, have other things to do this weekend that I have promised. So I'll be busy right up to the end, sort of.
