silveradept: A plush doll version of C'thulhu, the Sleeper, in H.P. Lovecraft stories. (C'thulhu)
I saw at least one interesting thing today - as I was heading home this morning, I passed by a house that was headquarters for one of the many Christian ministries on the campus. In a window, the number of American solider deaths in Iraq was displayed underneath a sign that simply asked "Will you only get involved if one of these numbers is someone you know?" (may not be an exact quote). Around the corner from it was a semi truck, and on its right door there was a picture of a flag and underneath, these words, "We Support Our Troops, Wherever We Go - No Aid or Comfort to the Enemy, No Way!" (also may not be an exact quote). I get the feeling these attitudes are linked somehow. And I can't help but feel that seeing those two attitudes existing on the same plane is the reason why that number will continue to increase.

I was even a social person tonight and went out - while I was there, admittedly, I didn't say more than a half-dozen words. I did listen and react to what was being said, I was just silent. No connection, perhaps? Not really. Just not being around with the stories being told. Wasn't a total loss, though - I did get eyefuls of good-looking girls.

In other materials, the ever-articulate [livejournal.com profile] greyweirdo regales us with a tale of links about the Ford Motor Corporation, Wells-Fargo Bank, and advertisements that were pulled because the American Family Association thought Ford was supporting the gay agenda. (Goddammit, I checked the mail today, and I STILL haven't gotten my copy yet! Someone tell Liberal Printing Presses that they're slacking.) Here's his entry in all its linktastic glory.

If you're one of the millions that's making war on Christmas, intentionally or no, you'll probably get a kick out of Jon Stewart's reply to Bill. Amazing what you can do when taken out of context, isn't it? Speaking of making war, Disney has just declared its intent to sodomize A.A. Milne's work for its own interests.

Yesterday, I gave some information about making powerful crystals. Here, we have information on making ozone, IRS requirements (nice scoop [livejournal.com profile] las,and seeing in metaphorically dark places. Lastly, I have something [livejournal.com profile] idan_cohen will like, namely that Flax is good for you. Yeah. That's it.
