So I've seen all of my classes. Some of them look like they'll have small bits to keep me busy, others will go straight to the heart of it and have very few, but very important assignments. It also appears that I'm going to have to become a bit of a powerpoint wizard for this semester, since presentations seem to be on everyone's class docket. I register my disgust here, and resign myself to having to get good at it, or pass it off as needed, to people who are better at it.

In preparation for a visit from the Dalai Lama, a poll finds out that money makes us unhappy, family and inner pace are things that make us happy. So perhaps clawing for that extra dollar really isn't worth it. All I'm hoping for is enough to pay everything back and live comfortably. We'll see whether it happens.

Stingrays found on beach with tails cut off. There's a possiblity that it's Steve Irwin fans taking revenge, which is pretty stupid. I'm waiting for the idiot that doesn't do it properly and gets stung and killed him or herself.

Cool vinyl stickers. We particularly like the 8 (and less) bit oldskool vidgaming.

Mrk. This is not an encouraging thing to see, although it does reassure the populace that the blood supply is still safe and that people should give, but the FDA assessed the American Red Cross a $4.2 million fine for not complying with blood safety regulations. That's not very encouraging - something seems to be not quite right with the way things get handled.

Regarding yesterday's memorial material, American Samizdat tells us that there are alternate things to remember on 11 September. A sampling of what was said on said day. Steve Jackson Games apparently "predicted" what would happen before it did. And, a rather important thing, always be sure to keep things in perspective where possible. When the government isn't fudging figures to produce a favorable result, we have people like the Vice President, who continues to claim that people objecting to the Iraq War are aiding terrorists. Perhaps he should read the experience of a journalist regarding a Pearl Harbor interview and 11 September.

That's really what I have - a collection of other people's thoughts. Considering I missed the whole thing live, I don't have quite as much of a flashbulb memory of it. Either way, I'm headed to bed.
