Greetings, all. Observe the following - did you notice how much surface and just-beneath the surface racism and oppression there is when people talk white men and women try to talk about what they think is important about poor women and women of color regarding sex, pregnancy, and social services?

And then think about how someone can read the historical documents and the Constitution and conclude that the clause on religious freedom was not intended to protect any religion other than the dominant one. (Answer? Cherry-picking his quotes to justify his own biases and leaving off the parts where the people in the discussions mentioned how much they understood that religious freedome would apply to everyone, dominant religion and other religions (and no religion) alike, sometimes taking the first part to make his poit and ignoring what comes right after that disproves it entirely.)

Elsewhere, the Samsung corporation has been installing keyloggers on its laptops that it would then sell to consumers. This was apparently to conduct market research on users without their knowledge or informed consent, but it also opened up a giant security hole that could be used to send all the PII, passwords, and other data to someone with poor intent and a will to commit identity theft should someone else compromise the rootkit, or someone at Samsung decide to go to the black hats.

The fallout from the protests last Saturday, including the arrest of peaceful protestors (bad) but also the launching of an inquiry into corporate tax dodging (good). Things are working, despite the heavy response to a non-violent protest - let's see if the inquiry comes back and starts making changes to stop tax dodging.

On Libya, speculation abounds that President Obama has authorized covert actions to assist the rebels in Libya, in anticipation of another decision as to whether to arm said rebels in their fight. This ramps up speculation that al-Qaeda sees a good opportunity to join the rebel forces so they can take over and turn Libya into one of their states. Assuming they get all the cards to fall in their direction. While that discussion goes on, NATO formally assumes command of enforcing the no-fly zone.

A legislator in Wisconsin was caught on video lamenting how very hard it is to live with his six children on his cushy government salary, $175,000, and benefits. And then, when they posted it, the GOP sent DMCA takedown attacks against Talking Points Memo.

Finally, we women warriors, worldwide, part one.

Out in the world today, India defeats Pakistan to play Sri Lanka in the finals of the World (Cricket) Cup.

The United Nations formally expressed their insistence that the violence in Cote D'Ivoire stop and sanctions the outgoing-by-vote president Gbagbo for his unwillingness to step aside and transfer power.

Israel says that it will not accept a two-state solution and that it will resort to whatever means it deems necessary to ensure that there is no Palestine, even if the United Nations recognizes it as such.

Domestically, pay attention to your package sizes - the smaller amounts you're paying the same for now are indicative of the way food prices are going.

A delay was granted to the attorneys of Major Nidal Hasan to postpone the court-martial until the current commander of Fort Hood departs and is replaced - the argument that the base commander at the time of the incident would not be impartion was persuasive.

In technology, the resurgence of the manual typewriter in the world of high-tech keyboarding. Those who are surpised by this have probably never heard of this "steam-punk" thing.

Also, a colour map of the development of the many strains of fantasy and science fiction, as they meld, split, merge, spin off, and otherwise look much like an organism growing.

Finally, the possibility that an HIV vaccinne is about to begin human trials. We hope they get to it swiftly, and they've gotten the science right. The ability to vaccinate against HIV would be another major pathogen defeated through the might of SCIENCE!

Into opinions, where Mr. Dowd says President Obama should stop bragging and sniping at previous Presidents, because it's clear to him that what Mr. Obama needs is to admit that he totally sucks at his job and has been learning from the great examples of people like the previous administrator. Slightly more restrained is Mr. Forman, who claims that the President's continued insistence on involving the international community is dangerous and makes everyone less safe, because it makes him not be The Decider when things are on the line, and not use his Team America: World Police power when columnists thinks he should.

Mr. Patton accuses the left and the President of using catch phrases to obfuscate and control the frame of the debate. Because, you know, it's not like there aren't talking points the other side uses to do the same, right?

Tying it all together, Mr. Sowell accuses the President of being an empty suit, of promoting race resentment, of not using his Team America powers when he should be, of alienating allies, or bypassing the Congress and the Constitution...basically of everything the right has accused the President of being since he took office, excepting Birtherism.

Out of opinions, Mr. Rubio explains why he will vote against raising the debt ceiling and what sort of reforms he feels are necesary to bring the debt and deficit under control - he's at least aware that more than just nondefense discretionary spending has to be cut. Unfortunately, he seems to be unwilling to cut defense, only social programs, Social Security and Medicare. So he's not completely serious about cutting the budget, but he's at least Republican.

Last for tonight, a request - anonymously or otherwise, if you have been diagnosed with a mental disorder or condition, would you please talk about it?
