Have a quick summary of the testimony and its high-and-low-lights...in the House. In the Senate, paper products, including feminine hygiene products, were confiscated from those wishing to enter the gallery for a time, in addition to a large amount of dismissing germane amendments and making a mockery of the idea that the Texas Senate passed this bill based on solid, documented (easily furnishable documents, that is) evidence with the intent of making health better for women. Governor Perry swiftly signed the bill once it arrived on his desk.
North Carolina's governor intends to break a campaign promise by signing a bill that is an unholy fusion of motorcycle safety and anti-choice measures after he threatened a veto of the original anti-choice bill. Republicans then quickly inserted the anti-choice language into another bill, swiftly enough that several Democratic members of its committee were unaware of the changes.
George Zimmerman was acquitted of charges of murder and manslaughter for his direct involvement in the killing of Trayvon Martin. There's strong evidence that statistically speaking, once the jury was determined, George Zimmerman was going to be acquitted. And then, of course, all the commentary on the case by those who failed to pass the basic test of humanity, an attack on a black singer by a white woman for dedicating his song to Trayvon Martin, and yet again, at least one peaceful protest marred by police presence preventing them from achieving their ends. In their defense, they were worried about other people who failed the test of humanity. The grand majority, however, engaged in peaceful and loud demonstrations expressing their displeasure with the verdict. [Note: As with all things, ware the comments.]

Thus, they desperately cling to whatever they can before having to admit to reality. It seems like this idea is far too prevalent in conservative circles these days. Reality must be acknowledged, even if you work on changing that reality.
