silveradept...the exam went well. Thanks to those who gave me a good luck wish. I won't know if it went spectacularly until it's all graded, but I'm pretty sure I didn't bomb it.
It was a long night last night, but hopefully a fruitful one. I'm back in block, and we're doing the cake pregame, which is by far my favorite one to do. Any pregame where I get to play the Blues Brothers theme (I Can't Turn you Loose) is a good one!

welah today while I was waiting for the bus to go to my 2:00 class. I think he did a double take, but I waved and he drove on.
USA Women's soccer played a respectable tie, 2-2 with Italy.
And so we turn to the eviler side of my mental processes. We'll start with band, as I've had this grudge for a couple of days now and want to get it off my chest...
...our director is a [insert term of non-endearment here, preferably strong, not necessarily phallic or referring to parentage, but those are the two that come to mind most readily]. I've been counting his complaints-to-compliments ratio, and the complaints are winning by a strong majority. I'm not sure whether or not the man has lost sight of the fun part of band... that which makes the exercise and all that other stuff more bearable. It's become more inclined to the "zero fun, all work, all the time" mentality, and it's dragging our section in with it, more out of fear of reprisal than necessarily any buy-in to the mentality, in my opinion. He was better when he was settling in as director; he kind of went with the flow. Now that he's established, he's doing things his way, and the rest of us be damned. (Yes, it's our choice to be part of band, but he should make an effort to make it a welcoming place if he wants to keep members...) So I guess I'd like to hear what we've done well and what we need working on. Even when he gives compliments, they're not always positive.
Am I overreacting to him? Or is there something wrong here?
