Xin Nian Kuai Le!
Gong Hsi Fa Tsai... Hong bao na lai!

Welcome to the year of the Monkey.

As for today, not much on the interesting part. I likes my MP3 player muchly and greatly.

Meme-type-thingy that's the rage of my Friends list...

Your Brain Usage Profile

Auditory : 41%
Visual : 58%
Left : 43%
Right : 56%

The explanation follows. Italics and stuff indicate commentary.

Silver, you possess an interesting balance of hemispheric and sensory characteristics, with a slight right-brain dominance and a slight preference for visual processing.

Since neither of these is completely centered, you lack the indecision and second-guessing associated with other patterns.(Ya gotta be kidding me. I second-guess myself a lot, and I'm indecisive.) You have a distinct preference for creativity and intuition with seemingly sufficient verbal skills to be able to translate in any meaningful way to yourself and others. (Language skills aplenty, I think...)

You tend to see things in "wholes" without surrendering the ability to attend to details. You can give them sufficient notice to be able to utitlize and incorporate them as part of an overall pattern.

In the same way, while you are active and process information simultaneously, you demonstrate a capacity for sequencing as well as reflection which allows for some "inner dialogue." (As some of my friends can attest, this is fairly spot-on, especially with regard to religion.)

All in all, you are likely to be quite content with yourself and your style although at times it will not necessarily be appreciated by others. You have sufficient confidence to not second-guess yourself, but rather to use your critical faculties in a way that enhances, rather than limits, your creativity. (So even though I'm a strong self-critic, it's only to productive ends? Perhaps, but more than likely not always...)

You can learn in either mode although far more efficiently within the visual mode. It is likely that in listening to conversations or lecture materials you simultaneously translate into pictures which enhance and elaborate on the meaning.(Sometimes I think in relations to each other. I don't think this is picturesque, but I have come up with some funny images to help me remember some things from lecture)

It is most likely that you will gravitate towards those endeavors which are predominantly visual but include some logic or structuring. You may either work particularly hard at cultivating your auditory skills or risk "missing out" on being able to efficiently process what you learn. Your own intuitive skills will at times interfere with your capacity to listen to others, which is something else you may need to take into account. (Ooookay... so sometimes what I feel makes it hard for me to listen? Sometimes, yes...)

The other really cool thing is something I've ganked from [livejournal.com profile] tkarrde98's journal.

A water bearer in China had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which he carried across his neck. One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.

At the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water to his house.

Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, perfect for which it was made. But the cracked pot was ashamed of its imperfection and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream: "I am ashamed of myself because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house."

The bearer said to the pot, "Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?"

"That's because I have always known about your flaw, and I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you've watered them. "

"For two years I have been able to pick these flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house."

Moral: Each of us has our own unique flaws. We're all cracked pots. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You've got to take each person for what they are, and look for the good in them.

Blessings to all my crackpot friends and family.

Hehe... how appropriate for Chinese New Year. Anyway, see you people in the morning!
