silveradeptChallenge #8 asks us to engage with the journal and forum games of yesteryear.
In this specific case, "quiz" is being used in the "What [Z] are you?" kind of quiz that you might find in a magazine, or on Buzzfeed, or on various sites that want to sort you into various fictional factions or houses or figure out which character or role you would take on in the narrative. The ones that work by asking you about seemingly arbitrary things and produce a result that is supposedly insightful to you.
I did a couple of them back when they were in their most popular phase, but a rumor went about that the quiz sites were using the results for data mining and advertising and that seemed to stop a lot of the possible fun they could be if there was a less wholesome purpose behind all of it. (Stop ruining my fandom, money.) This was the time before I really got into fandom and really understood the purpose of the things as a way of bonding and showing off your fandom to others who might be interested and strike up a conversation with you. (In a forum, possibly, or in the guestbook of your own site or their site.)
Dreamwidth, like LiveJournal, has the option for paid and premium tier accounts to create polls, so if you're a supporter of have been gifted paid amount time, you can solicit the opinions of others on all sorts of things! One of the interesting uses of the poll I've seen is for an account to create a sort of ersatz kudos button with a one option poll that can be clicked and submitted. So, for your enjoyment, and to do the challenge bit, have a poll about arbitrary things.
