Why, it's Humpday...

silveradept...and I just got back from some work! Soon after I posted, one of my housemates said that his boss called about painting some bits of his basement today, and I gladly accepted (money!) and it was a nice job today. Tomorrow I'll take my hacks at a house with my boss from last year (my boss's boss) and Friday I'll interview for that shelving job after I get out of work that day. Hopefully it will all work out in the end and I'll be done in time. I can't believe that I'm running out of the summer. I hate to admit it, but I'm ready to go back to schooling... there is that hump called Band Week in between me and my goal, but I should be able to slog through it with enough enthusiasm to get me there. Which reminds me. I should practice some time this weekend, if not before. Maybe after dinner I'll go down to the band hall, check out an instrument temporarily and play a few bars.
If you've noticed the explosion in my friend page, it's because I found out that many of the members of the College Roomies From Hell! message boards have LiveJournals as well, so I've been busily hunting them down and putting them in my lists. Makes me wonder whether we have a community on LJ.
Right, then. So I was watching Queer Eye last night, and I think I've figured out why I like that show so much. The Fab five are good. They know their stuff backwards, forwards, and inside-out. Plus, they make Average Joes look really, really, good. Would that I had a tenth of their knowledge. I could do well with even that much.
Bleargh. I think I just realize that there will always be people that are better than me, and I'm consigned to being one of the unremarkable. Maybe that's why I become invisible so easily... oh, well. My apartment-mates next year are bound and determined to make me more social. We'll see what happens.
