Managed to get almost everything done - no cheese. No paper, either, but some editing done on thesis. Productive day, considering I also watched some animation for some leisure time (Today was still a day off, kids, don't let my apparent work fool you).

I just noticed that I begin my journal entries with sound effects a lot of the time. Is this a problem? Sometimes it holds daily drivel, and other days it holds ponderous ponderings. (You know, now that I think about the Brad Hicks entry, saying it is drivel kind of makes the assumption that it's not worth as much) I suppose I should be more inclined to say that these, too, are ponderings couched in daily life. I realize the boredom of narrative convention in describing one's day, and yet, even the highlight-reel version sometimes still is boring, I'm sure.

Ah, well. It's not like I have armies flocking to my journal, hanging on my every word as if it were spiritually significant (you know why all the popular philosophers and prophets are dead? Because were they alive, they might be nonplussed with the lack of brains on the parts of their followers. Myself, as a follower, agrees wholeheartedly that followers generally have a lack of brains. A firm belief is a mistake, and that's my firm belief.), so I suppose I can fill the down-time between Serious Writing with the stuff of life. Not much harder than a game of three-sided football, really.

I ran across an article on synasthesia, the blending of senses (ever wonder what color a note sounds like? A synasthesic can give you an answer), and while it would be both benefit and harm, I wonder what it feels like? It would have to be interesting to "see" music as it was played. Might make marching band a little tough. Fantasia is an artificial sort of this, with carefully chosen images to accompany the music, but I wonder what raw music looks like.

As the anarchy of ontology progresses on, words take on new meanings, I'm beginning to see echoes (boy, if that wasn't a synasthesic phrase, there isn't much that is) of things gone before. The American Culture class is helping put down a magnifying glass on it, but the sneaky suspicion of déja vu gets more prevalent as I read about subculture of the past and the alternacultures of today. Are we repeating ourselves, in a new medium, with new technology, or are we going beyond where they started and creating something new?

I suppose the only way we'll know is by catching sight of Millie as she runs around cackling.

"Likewise, it is no psycho-sexual drama of the fuckers and fucked - the possibilities are greatly expanded! The pitch is hexagonal each team being assigned two opposite sides for bureaucratical purposes should the ball be kicked out of the play. The blank side is called the front side. The side containing the orifice is called the backside, and the orifice is called a goal. Should the ball be thrust through a team's orifice, the team is deemed to have conceded a goal - so in an emblematic fashion this perpetuates the anal-retentive homophobic techniques of conventional football whereby homo-erotic tension is built up, only to be sublimated and repressed. However the trialectic appropriation of this technique dissolves the homo-erotic/homo-phobic bipolarity as a successful attack will generally imply co-operation with the third team."

This is a joke, right?

Chris' First Rule of Psychology: no matter how mundane or prosaic the subject, there's always at least one -ologist who is convinced it is something to do with sex. The very possibility that there can be any other explanation on the planet is unthinkable for them.

I tend to believe that it doesn't tell you anything about the thing they're supposed to be explaining but it tells you a huge amount about them...

I'm almost certain that Thwee is spiritually significant, if you think about it long enough.

Not at all, by combining the mundane and the ridiculous we shall at last have the power to defeat all who stand in our way.
