Two conflicting moods now.
Mar. 29th, 2005 10:31 pmThe first is lighter and occupied a large part of my day. The results of that are as follows.
Young scholars, beware - you should always do your own work so as to avoid brilliant tricksters like this one.
blacktigr alerted me to this gem of a reason why plagarism sucks.
And now for a game of Then and Now. The subject - the things a wife does for her husband. Then (1950's) and Now (1990's). Yes, so it's not quite fully now, but it's now enough.
Is it possible that The Force follows Clarke's Third Law ("Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic")? The author makes an interesting case of charlatanism perpetuated by the Jedi. Perhaps if someone gets close enough to The Mystery Box surrounding the issue, they can see it. Further details available as they arrive - which might not be for a very long time.
The second is a bit heavier - I found out upon my return from the business meeting today that the proprietor of the home anime club's base of operations passed away on Sunday (M-Live might want some data from you. Screw with their system and get to the article). My mother alerted me to this item (she gets the paper copy of the paper) and now the club is well, in shock. Bill gave us a good meeting area. His wife did help run the store, so the place isn't shutting down as far as I know, but that does put the group into a possible bind as to whether we can continue to use the space for meeting purposes. Right now, we're just a bit shocked. Goodbye, Bill. We'll miss you a lot. Ave Atque Vale. Hopefully, we get word of when the services are so that we can salute him properly. If things work out, I'll go back to Jackson and attend. Even if things don't work out, I may ditch class and attend.
