...or something. Today's been a tiny bit surreal. Which is good in some ways and abso-fragging-lutely strange in others. Might not have been the best day to start reading Watchmen, but I picked it up today, and I'm liking it. A lot.

So what made my day off the beaten path? Other than finishing a couple projects at work (computers fun.)? Well, let's start with Sire Mixalot. It's missing a couple segments yet, but that's okay. It's still funny. Although at the same time, I wonder whether I want to forget the source material that makes it so. There was the account of someone in tech support who knew not how to reboot, and couldn't find the power button on their machine without being told where it was. There were politics, such as G.W. Bush now being the most vacation'd President EVAH (and also not having exercised his veto once yet, in both of his terms in office, according to some). Question for those with considerable access to various resources: How many bills that make it out of committee are actually killed by the Presidential Veto when the White House and the Congress are aligned? None, almost none, a couple, a lot?

And there's [livejournal.com profile] goji, posting a picture like this. (Quite work safe, just may make heads a-splode.) I think, if there was a front-running candidate to try and make my brain break down, that's it. Doesn't help that someone else made a Red joke on my passing mentions of mecha. Thanks, Low. (For the curious, the previous sentence makes no sense to those who have no idea who Red is.) While my brain actively tries to segment itself into a million tiny pieces and then rejoin (pass the spackle, would you? I'm leaking brains here.), it also managed to ponder the tingle-tron, a device designed to shock you, that routing through the hub makes traffic worse, and what counts as the strangest bit of news I've seen in a while, a guy tap-dancing on Regan's grave. (Well, at least pictures of it supposedly happening - he's also claiming credit for having pissed on Nixon's, with accompanying photograph.) This after I admitted that a certain goddess of chaos invited herself into my life some time ago. Apparently, some other people are taking the opposite tack and sending Jesus to everyone. Understand why I think people's brains would have shattered by now? (Mine? Pfft. If it can make sense out of Excel Saga, then it's already broken beyond repair.)

Beyond that point, life's been good. I need to schedule in a trip to Hell to grab an item of no particular worth to anyone except the person who's sending me something from Hell, and send her something from Hell in return. It'll probably have to wait for the weekend, though. Excursions to Hell don't just happen on a whim.

Yeah, so today didn't make a whole lot of sense. That's good, though. Days like these are what the other days are measured by, to see if they live up to the billing of an insane life. And, after all, I did say that we lived in interesting times.

Blasted headaches keep trying to come back - fought one off today with a deep-breathing exercise for about five minutes, and lunch not shortly afterward. IF they're stress-headaches, I have no idea what's causing them (one just started up as I was typing this sentence.) Well, they're not headaches, more tightness and throbbing along the temple regions. If I concentrate on dispersing them, sometimes they move up to the forehead before going away. So far, so good. I have also entertained the possibility that I may be susceptible to migraines, but I normally think that they have a trigger of some sort - I have no idea what it is, if it exists. But these headaches are bearable - a migraine sufferer I know requires no external stimulus at all when he gets them just to make them bearable - lights-out, no sound, nothing. I dunno. Again, what do I have to be worried about? (other than my finances, and perhaps a small bit of anxiety about he upcoming school year...)
