The mind-bendiness that is #fleet has, with my full participation, been mocking CCGs for the last few hours. We're all very good at making up card names and counters and all of that. Perhaps at some point we'll construct our various decks and utilize all those wonderful puns and card names. Maybe not tonight, though.

I have no idea what else there was to say today, other than the possibility of good work was done. So instead, I'll go after things like pink locker rooms, non-judge judge nominations, friends, Katrina's people don't deserve this, and the roles of the world and of the natural world.

Things have settled a bit, although they're about to start again in terms of getting funky. But it's okay - I will continue to frontload as much as I possibly can on the busywork assignments so that I don't burn out or waste time. In an effective sort of way, though.

You reminded me of that fact that once upon a time, an online friend and I constructed an entire TCG based on a chatroom. We came up with a rulebook and a 100-card base set and played a few games over apprentice before the whole thing ran out of energy. We almost held a tournament, too.

So be careful of what you say.

Actually, digging through an old log, the whole thing is still online: rulebook and base set. Proceed with caution.

There's no real danger of anything productive coming out of the silliness there.
The Third Rule Of #fleet: never, ever say something like that. Someone will take it as a challenge.

Wow, and one wonders what the lowest level judges are before they're appointed as such.

Seriously, Bush has surprised me with these nominations. They're... sane. Frightening, yet hopeful.

True enough. I do understand the want from the man to promote someone that he knows personally to avoid another Souter - a man that his father didn't know at all, and we know how well that worked for him.

Cronyism or not, I won't argue against another constructionist - liberal or conservative - on the bench. That usually leads to more restrictions on government more than anything else...
