Thing seem to be back to a given value of normal. Meaning, basically, that I still seem to be having trouble with Firefox trying to suck up all the memory it can - when I have half as much as I used to. Finally, I got really sick of it and rebooted. May have to just not use Firefox as a catching device as often. Which kind of defeats some of my purposes, as I use it as a memory device many a time. Maybe it's just my computer. If I had a spare hard drive with a lot of free space, say at least twenty gigabytes, then I'd transfer, format, reinstall, and get rid of the detritus that's clogging my system. If I could couple that with a motherboard and processor that's really nice, that would be completely awesome. Unfortunately, not much in the way of money to indulge such a fantasy. No, not like this, sickos..

Comparison time, thanks to a good friend, namely, [livejournal.com profile] girtygrin. If you're thinking about buying an accessory for your iPod, you should ask yourself a key question: Have you been naughty, or have you been nice? (I would ask, "Do you want to be naughty or nice?", but that's not the Santa question. At least not in any VEWPRF special you can show your kids.)

Speaking of the VEWPRF, one notes that one of the common names for it involves a religious figure. Now, that same religious figure was reasonably clear about what he wanted his followers to do. Someone has put up pictures of some of the most chronic offenders of those teachings and calls it, most likely quite correctly, Jesus would be ashamed of you. One of the things that has fascinated me the most about these types of people is that they are exercising a right granted to them by the Protestant Revolution, namely the ability to interpret the Bible as one sees fit. Yet many see them as squandering such a gift by focusing on literal interpretations, out-of-context quoting, and what would appear to be the utter disregard for a significant portion of the Jesus message, namely, take care of your fellow man and care for him. At the same time, I can see several of these people thinking that they are caring for their fellow man by consigning him to the pits of hell unless he repents from his behaviors. The texts are marvelously aggravating at times - they can justify an aggressive violence against another person of group, they can say that some groups of people should be excluded, and they can also say that every person is involved in the plan that the God-Man has crafted and that to make anyone a lesser being is folly. Interpretation is a pain. Some people appear not to be exercising the capacity, or only weakly so. It's all what you make of it. So if you want to send people up to protest a play several states over, that's your choice. Just wonder whether or not Jesus would be ashamed of you for doing it.
