Two paper drafts, done. Readings to do: Two at least, but now things look a little better. Instead of panicking, I might be able to turn out a good third and fourth paper now. We'll see how much the weekend co-operates.
Went to see my professor about the e-mail he sent about my archetypal connections between Yuki Kajiura-san (composer of .hack) and We, a book in my sci-fi course. According to the prof, the connection between D-503 and Tsukasa are part of an archetype of a person being both in the group and out of it. It's a fairly standard plot thing in sci-fi, and my noticing it and its effects in the lyrics of "The World" (and since then, "A Stray Child" as well...) is simply my recognition of the deeper archetype. I'm a frigging genius, and I'm not even aware of it. *sly grin*
Anyway, someone in MMB trombone section put up his opinion on USC's behavior towards us in the Rose Bowl (don't get me started) in his blog (over on Xanga - am I allowed to say that?) and drew, well, responses. Mostly from Trojan band members. Those were profane and rather puffed up in the ego department. There were cheers from Cal band members.
And me? Well, hopefully I held the pin that made the inflated ego pop, but I doubt it. While, I didn't use explicit language, I did take a few jibes at them. A failing, perhaps, of my patience.
Anyway, I'm sure that's not really important to anybody anyway. Class tomorrow and all that. Day in, day out, that sort of thing.
