The 25th was Towel Day, and I missed it. Pretty much. D'oh!
And now, for your daily digest.
...sat around, played some games, went to a meeting for U*CON, and came back home. Naturally, there was something in my inbox that I'm a bit late responding to. I hope that tomorrow, they'll still be as willing to potentially hire me on. I can say that I got in late, which is true. Go figure. I'm out doing my volunteer duty and then an e-mail about a job comes in. *sigh*
Oh, well. I'll still spread my great virtue and ensure that everybody else has their lives in order before I can get mine. Not that I necessarily like being the last guy, but if it means that everybody else is all set, I suppose I can let it slide. After all, I think I did make that bodhisattva vow in earnest somewhere along the line. Along with a few other ones, that I'm still trying to uphold. Suffice to say, here's hoping, right?
Another of my weird thoughts for today - someone in
freetobelieve is inquiring about the existence of God, the beginnings and ends of life and the universe, science's illogic, the hypocrisy of those who follow religions, and such stuff. (Link) She's looking for definitive answers. (Aren't we all?) The way she phrased things, I suggested Buddhism, a path that could emphasise both the importance of the mundane and the spiritual. Someone else suggested Discordianism (you were expecting any less?). One suggested that both science and religion were inadequate for answering the problem, even together, without a contribution of faith from the person asking the question.
And, as well, for balance, we had a proselytizer. A Latter-Day Saint. Was a testimonial to the faith that he had. Not much of a problem there. Methinks he oversimplified the problem a tad, by telling her that she needed to figure out whether she wanted to believe in (his) God before she could make any headway in her quest. Grates on my ears a bit, that's all. The tone didn't settle right, I suppose. But that's me.
And I think that's everything from my end of existence. (Boring, isn't it?) So, g'night, or g'morning if yer getting up and reading this.
