And so...

...a bit more balanced than he was a few days ago, I feel much better now. Just as I predicted, once I got something for a job, the rest fell back into place. Or, at least, wasn't magnifying the problem anymore, and had gone back to being distinct problems of their own. By being distinct, they were ignorable, and thus, they didn't upset the psyche quite so much. Some part of him inside said that ignoring those sorts of problems wasn't necessarily very healthy, either, but that part, while offering sage advice, probably fell on deaf ears.

So I finished off a book I'd been meaning to read, and it was okay. And I paid rent on this month. So. Things are going, in theory, much more according to plan. Better now than never. So I think I'm going off to bed. I will probably sleep much easier this night than others. Or I could have horrible nightmares. I hope not.

I did play a little 1v1 deathmatching with [livejournal.com profile] welah, and by some miracle, I managed to beat him on both levels we played. Not by a whole lot, mind you, and my screen was stuttering a bit every now and then. Still, an interesting thing. Although, I'm a bit worried that [livejournal.com profile] torakiyoshi, when hooked up, will prove to be a natural and school the both of us. Oh, well. If it happens, it happens.

The question now is whether I go after another part-time position for the remainder of the summer, a very unlikely thing to get, or consider myself exceedingly lucky and sit on what I have. Opinions welcome. (although I can't make it a poll, since that's a paid user option.)

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Ah, yes. One or two things that have caught my eye. First, from [livejournal.com profile] torakyioshi, who brought this piece to my attention - it resides in the journal of [livejournal.com profile] maltrayfox, and can be found here. It is worth a read.

Second, and related to that, is this.

I'm back at the parents' house because my younger sister's open house (yay for graduation. She never has to go back to that place again unless she wants to) is tomorrow. So rather than get up, I'll stay the night. Plus, after her open house, we have my dear da's fiftieth birthday roast. So two parties tomorrow. Yay!

Threw the frisbee around, played some X-2 (roasted a few important enemies today. Now back on schedule for a good-looking finish, even though I'll have to play it again to get a perfect score and the final dressphere.) and looked at some sunbathers.

However, as contrary to opinion this might be, people sunbathing are not necessarily in the best position to get a good appreciation of their figures. I'm not really sure why. No matter, although if someone has an explanation, I'll be happy to entertain it.

So that's the gist of today. It was a nice, relaxing change of pace.
