Music you can feel.
Feb. 21st, 2005 11:04 pmI watched some taiko drummers tonight, and while I didn't have the best seat for the visuals, the music was definitely worth listening to. It'll amaze you how much simple patterns and a constant beat can make such varied sounds. And the big drum is definitely music you can feel. Mmm... anyway, gave serious thought to buying the DVD/CD combo to find that I'm a little short on discretionary funds to do so - this is probably a good thing. Besides, I've got a feeling that I'll need those funds elsewhere - it would be bad to misunderestimate the need for money. Although I was amused that the bank was closed for President's Day, even though the college wasn't. More fun for us tomorrow as I try once again to get to the bank as well as get through another workday. Hopefully one that doesn't come crashing down around my ears like the last one wanted to. There's still a good chance it might.
And I talked with the socialists today - mostly about what happens After The Revolution, and the truth is, while they can speculate and take care of large issues, on the details they're still a bit fuzzy, but only because hu-mons are so chaotic (ee-hee-hee-hee!) So perhaps when I see him next, I'll ask about the stuff that happens During The Revolution and see what the methodology is.
If I'm lucky, tomorrow I can read a scholarly book on Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and see if and where it fits in. (If I'm not, it'll be work. Big failure, there.) But since it's past my bedtime, I suppose we cut this one short. But with another message to Mr. Bush: Stay out of other people's business, asshole! Fix your own damn country first.
