Today was most interesting - I think I got both papers done, sort of - one's done, the other, I'm going to see if my prof actually will read drafts or not tomorrow. (Well, later today).

A few things also came back to me - the info on the class that I requested, a call back from a place that filled the spot I was applying for, but had a different job (that won't make as much money - I'm hoping for the maximum wage and a good set of hours) that I said I'd interview for. So that's next Wednesday. Today at work I sorted screws and rolled letters. (No, that's not some sort of euphemism for something else) I also did a little reading - should do some watching tomorrow, if I get the time and inclination. Which are both looking like good choices.

There was, also, apparently, a vote by Kansas to ban gay marriages that passed 70%-30% sometime in the last week that I missed out on. Eeeediots. I can see why people might think that Canada is a better place to live than here, because right now we seem to be proud of the fact that we're regressing towards medieval society in terms of our freedoms and viewpoints. Wonder what the new pope is going to do. Perhaps someone will pie him rather than try to shoot him.

Also, apparently in the UK, they're having sex at a very young age. Another liberal thing, I guess.

And, because I want to, I'm closing this out with an interesting meme from [livejournal.com profile] loweko

Describe the ancient and occult rituals that are used to summon you

Another of my potential difficulties clicked into place today - I have someplace to stay for next year. The rent's going up, but the room's becoming a single, and supposedly the utilities go down with just three living in the house. Perhaps if I can get the good wage from the job and good hours (and ACEN off), I can click another piece into place. Turned in one paper, finished revising on the other, one yet to be assigned. No comments back yet on thesis (due date is in two days), and found out where the departmental commencement will be. I'm going to need to pose for a few pictures. And I need to think about decorating my cap, and getting some of my last things finished. Yeah - assuming I don't blank out on my final paper and final test (for different classes), I'll be graduated - w00t. Of course, the flip side is that I'll be a grad student come September, but I hope that I can handle that.

In other things - Day of Silence, meet Day of Truth. Ah, how I so enjoy the sound of fundamentalism in the morning... not that I can tell them to can it, because free expression is their right, but this could be considered in the same vein as an editorial cartoon making fun of the Pope after he had died. We're even now, chowderheads.

It would appear that the Unitarian Jihad has gone beyond a simple meme to a press release. Something very odd this way comes - perhaps we can see more of it later? Or is this the result of a sugary cereal sugar shock?

Beyond even this, apparently some people have no clue what a two-dollar bill looks like. So what did they do when confronted with fifty-seven of them? Accused the purchaser of counterfeiting. Isn't that the wisest thing to do when confronted by this? Apparently, even the manager had reservations - the ink was smudged a bit. Tell me again why someone would want to counterfeit two-dollar bills?

Work tomorrow, which will be interesting. As the semester starts coming to an end, I'm not sure how long my current job will last, and at what hours it wants to work. We'll see how things turn out - they usually do okay. They have so far, and so there's no reason to believe that they won't continue to do so. Saturday, the famous Piro comes to town to the local shop - I expect fans out the door and around the block, but since I won't have much to do that day, I'll probably stand in the line anyway so that I can get sketch in one of my books or something. For something like Anime Central, somewhere where I'm sure he'll be as well, I usually don't have the time to wait in the line (I'm a bit more scripted when it comes to conventions. Maximum time utilized and all that). Although I did squeak by when Ken Akamatsu came to town as one of the last people he signed for on the first run. This was when Love Hina was just getting released Stateside, so it was a while ago.

And tempers seem to have settled again, all around. Perhaps it was a Mercury retrograde, or an unusually strong Mars influence in the last few weeks. However, I feel more the pull of the moon and the rhythms of the waves, all designed to lull me to sleep. So I'm off to bed.
