silveradept: Chief Diagonal Pumpkin Non-Hippopotamus Dragony-Thingy-Dingy-Flingy Llewellyn XIX from Ozy and Millie. (Llewellyn himself.)
Made money today. Need to find alternate sources of funding soon, though. Also read some manga today. Yotsubato looks like it's going to be madcap. More of Chrono Crusade read as well. Tomorrow, perhaps, I see a movie. Maybe after that, I'll see another, since the previews for Batman Begins actually make it look like a movie worth seeing (Unlike War of the Worlds - sorry, I read the book. Characterizations are already way off). This depends on what funds I garner and/or spend for the next week or two.

I did draw today, but none of the stuff that I drew will be making it to the site - it's all copy-drawing and done just as an experiment. I seem to be having trouble capturing facial expressions right sometimes. Although I was rather impressed that I didn't bite things hardcore when trying to sketch out a relatively complicated scene in about ten minutes. There were screwups, mostly in arms and hands (claws, really), but considering how I was on time, it turned out okay.

Digital photography is wonderful technology. It's getting to the point where film developers are refusing to develop pictures because they fear they might be copyrighted by people other than the person who's asking for processing.

And I fear that saying this will plant me firmly in the crosshairs of most conservatives from here on out (after all, "liberal" is a tag that haunts you forever), but... Bill O'Reily is a whiner. His ten-year-old mindset when it comes to politics made it very difficult, but very amusing, to watch him make a tirade out of very little, indeed. I watched about thirty seconds of his show as I was waiting for another to come back, and they were discussing the Texas "sexy cheerleaders" law, and he badgered until he got his way, all while trying to disguise it as "being fair". This must be why I don't watch Faux News. Actually, I don't watch a lot of news anymore. If it's important, it'll get to me. Somehow.

But there, I've admitted it. As much as I've tried hard to be neutral, I guess I have to admit it - I'm a liberal because I think Bill O'Reily, George W. Bush, and Dick Cheney are chowderheads and infant-brains. Perhaps in a few years, when I'm older, they'll let me back in to being a centrist, but for now, I'm out in left field - may as well enjoy it. See you all tomorrow from the Left. I assume that my copy of the Homosexual Agenda (and any others that I've been subscribed to) will be in my mailbox tomorrow.

...but I finally did go see it. For what I paid (matinee price), an enjoyable movie. I think I could have felt worse had I paid full / student prices on it.

Before I get into the nuts and bolts, I must cuss out my fellow theatergoers for not sticking around to hear the end of the credit sequence. If you've seen the previous movies, you should know that there's usually a great musical sequence during the credits. However, within the first thirty seconds, I find myself as the only person still there. Shame.
Cut just in case I'm not the last person )

After that scintillating review of Star Wars Episode III, it's time for me to settle into my more normal routine. There's quite a bit that could be said, so I'll start with some headlines. First, after the thrashing at the hands of the autopsy doctors in the Schiavo case, it would appear that the religious conservatives that are puppetmasters for the Republican Party are not yet through. CNN tells us that Governor Jeb Bush has started a probe to see why it might have taken Michael Schiavo as long as it did to contact 911. It appears that if they can't get him for murder one way, they'll try for at least negligent homicide in another. Really, guys, let it die.

And a little more information about that strange sort of witchcraft/Christianity thing I mentioned a little while ago - there might even be child trafficking involved for those who want to cast some powerful magic spells. The blend is a little strange, but considering what sorts of systems the American mind can put together, this is not untoward. Still, it would be horrible if it turns out that this trafficking is true.

Technology hopes to do some pretty neat things, like rendering a 3D model off of a printer. Not a picture, but the actual model itself. Perhaps even, if things go well, and quickly enough on the bandwidth, the models will be able to move. That'll make collaboration a real trick on projects, especially if everyone can look, feel, and test (well, maybe) the product themselves.

[livejournal.com profile] uncle_pervy has made a decision to firebomb the RIAA building. And probably several of the music label boardrooms, too. (Just kidding, Federal agents who are reading this journal because of unconstitutional powers granted by the PATRIOT Act. He's just pissed off at DRM, that's all.) I agree with his problems with things designed to prevent you from playing the music that you legally bought in things that you also own. Plus, I wonder about the pricing model - how much money goes to the artist, how much money does the company actually need to recoup advertising costs and such, and how much is profit in the way of "Let's see how much teeny-boppers can get their parents to pay for our crap"? I suspect that profit margin is pretty big. So maybe I'll mix up a couple of Molotovs and we'll go out carousing on the town (I'm still kidding, by the way, Carnivore or whatever your name may be.)

'Twould appear that I have to go through some loan counseling before I can get my diploma mailed to me. That'd be great, I'd love to, except I think this is the first time that any correspondence has been mailed to me that has the right numbers I need to actually go through with it. Silly university. But I'll slog through that on Sunday, probably, after it arrives at my domicile. 'S still a little quiet around here, but for now, I'm watching the playoff basketball games with the neighbors. So I'm trying to be social - really! I guess I just feel a little more relaxed when I don't have a situation that I'm necessarily being drawn into. With no role that I think I have to fulfill, I just enjoy things. Kind of nice, actually.
