Double-class day.
Jan. 18th, 2006 01:14 amAnd naturally, I really tried to fall asleep in both of them. I think my attention span just isn't long enough to sit through the lecture, or something - I need either a ten minute nap or some interactive component to keep me going - I don't understand why this happens every now and then, but it's like I run out of gas or something. Maybe it's a foodcoma, but it's nearly three hours after I ate, daggoneit. I really need to figure out how not to have this happen - I hate falling asleep in class - I even hate feeling like I want to take a nap in class. After some part of time, though, the feeling goes away and I'm good to go - usually after I try to z out for fifteen minutes - then a switch turns on and I'm awake, just as good as new. Gyarg. Plus, after I tried to do it in the second class, my forehead felt like it tightened up a bit. Rrrrrgh.
Anyway, did make moderate progress today, in that I wrote some, wrote on some different stuff, possibley finishing up a couple assignments, and now I need to write more. Much more. Day off from class tomorrow may be how I get a lot of it done. May also be how I get some other stuff done, too, and get away from my papers - there's a game night, so I'm bringing out Fluxx 2.1 and probably my regular poker cards. It could be venue for Morton's List if I can get enough brave souls involved, so I'll bring it and float the idea and see if any of it works.
...so yeah, today was a productive day, by standards. I just wish, like always, that I was done with everything the moment it's assigned. (Although the next week's assignment, looking ahead, looks like it's not going to be lethal - perfect timing on getting all the work done that I need to for the rest of the classes.)
Newest Chief Justice loses first decision. Or rather, sides with the dissenters.
Tomorrow's News, Today: Celebrity Section. Suggest you pour yourself some coffee so that you can stomach it. Me, I'm going to bed. The Truman Show was a fascinating idea, but I'm not doing it for celebrities.
