Write Every Day: 07 August 02019
Aug. 7th, 2019 08:16 pmGreetings! This is the Write Every Day Check-in post for 07 August 02019.
I've been getting back into a piece of software I recently looked at. It's essentially an anonymous post office, where people can make short requests and receive short letters from other people using the application that offer encouragement, possibly advice, and otherwise give kind words to each other while remaining essentially anonymous. It's been interesting to poke at - there are collectible stickers and the like and daily little loops of music to listen to and add to a collection. It's also a nice exercise in writing, as both requests and replies have to fit within a space limit that isn't immedaitely delineated. There is also something nice about sending small notes of encouragement to people known only by a first initial (unless they choose to sign off with or write more than that). It seems like the sort of thing that Fred Rogers would have approved of the use of technology for.
In other writing exercises, I hit draft status on an assignment today, which is excellent to be up on. I was planning on doing some other writing, but my source materials haven't arrived yet, and so I'll instead have to work on some other project that I'm worried is going to explode into another longform fic instead of staying as relatively compact as it can be.
( It's tally time! )
