Friday, daggoneit!
Mar. 11th, 2006 01:53 amAnd it's the weekend. I almost forgot what time class was today, but remembered with enough time to get my books and things together and be ready to go out. I scored a strongly silencing opening double-deck Pinochle (by house rules) on my midterm out of a raise of that same bid. (And if that doesn't make any sense, that's perfectly fine. It was a rather high score, and that's all we need to know.)
urbankotq shows off the elite shooting skills of one of the press corps. LOL Cheney, PWND.
Also! Spam in my e-mail box - "Lowe's Promo: 1000 Lowe's bucks from us". Precisely what I need to finish that SDN order I've been saving up for.
If you're into amateur radio, and into talking with the things up in the stars, you might be pleased to know that you could build your own satellite and have it launched. Would probably help to extend the range of your meetings, that's for sure...
And if you're really into tricks, maybe you can try this method to stop time? Gain a few seconds on the world.
Some memeish thing, about what sort of medieval archetype I would fit best to.
Something that may be of interest, either for the article or for the comment war that rages on beneath it: procedure for performing an abortion. For those persons who would not have access to a clinic, materials and other such things are laid out. Apparently, there will be companion pieces. The merits of having such information, the rationales behind it, and the matters of abortion and conception all rage about in the comments. Just goes to show what sort of divisiveness there is over the matter.
I was a bad emo boy for a bit tonight - I had a bout of self-worthlessness and Impostorness. It was bad enough that it got all the way down to wondering why people cared for me at all (this was through the relatively familiar realms of "wouldn't want to hurt a girl who was interested in me -> if someone broke up with me, it would have to be something wrong with me -> Type-Double-A Personality, striving to be perfect -> "I don't really have talents with tangible results" and finally all the way down to "Why would someone care for the insignificant speck that is me?" If you've been around "me" long enough (And trust us, we have.), then you probably recognize the spiral as a familiar one. But as I tried to be emo, I ran into resistance and stubborn people, and then wouldn't let me be emo. And they kept popping the balloons that I was floating for arguments. I'm over it now. And I'm thankful they did that. Now I really have to worry... if I think I can sneak off to brood and such, they'll find me and drag me back. Guess I'm going to keep making progress whether I like it or not.

Lover
The Lover (or Poet) is a rare type. (S)He has a rather contradictory nature. He is completely unselfish and generally regards others above himself, yet somehow in his effort to please, often ends up doing things that appear completely self-centered. The Lover loves people and strives for acceptance, but at the same time withdraws from the world. Lovers are authors, artists, philosophers, and musicians. They live unorthodox, unconventional, or even chaotic lives. Lovers experience the highest highs and lowest lows.
The Lover's complement is the hardened, unhesitant Warrior.

Date: 2006-03-11 04:48 pm (UTC)Which sort of points out the entire illusory nature of time, at least how we have it divided. If we dont' really have a good grasp on what "time" is, then experiments like that show off just how bad it really is. We appear to stop time because what we think of as that many seconds, really isn't.
In my own case, I tend to rush the beat, and I think most other people would, too. That way, this experiment makes sense.
