Yeah. Today's been remarkably productive. Shipped off applications, made my draft look a large amount better for one paper, and hopefully it'll be a good draft to get comments on. There was also the elections night meeting for the gaming convention. Ended up getting elected as the financial officer of the club, so, yay, finances.

In the current climate, where many wonder whether their input is actually heard, it might be worthwhile having a look at this article on defeating the Delphi technique to see if this is really how public opinion is sought these days. Might be interesting to watch it happen during elected official debates, the proclamations of "the will of the people" and other such things. Manipulation of the mind? Quite possibly, although I wonder whether anyone in said focus groups isn't already chosen for being a representative of Joe Average Weak-Minded Public. Oh, well. It's a thought, certainly, and something you may want to think about as well.

Developments of a sort in South Dakota. Since the law that passed prevents things from happening in the state, one of the Native American leaders stepped up to the plate. The excerpt is housed in [livejournal.com profile] greyweirdo's journal, but she said: "Fine. I'll put up a Planned Parenthood clinic on native land. Hats off to you, miss.

In Mississippi, well, the courts have defeated a motion to permit the residents to obtain sexual toys. I can't necessarily say "Just when you thought things can't get stranger", because they have, and will probably continue to do so. I just wonder why someone would continue to permit such a law to be on the books. It's not really promoting immorality in one sense, because having a toy might mean that one doesn't go out and have risky sex with another person to get one's jollies. (It might be in another sense, you never know.) It doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense to me, that's all. But then again, that's me. Far too many things in the world don't make any sense to me, and those are things that are by far more normal than this.

Also, for your considerations, the system of octomatics, or using a numeral system of base eight rather than base ten in one's enterprises. It's a neat thought, actually. There are a few things that could certainly do well by going into a base eight system.

As for myself, well I did do some work, so I'm a little less panicky. Still getting there, but less now. Will probably be less panicked again by weekend time.

not being panicky is a good thing. :)

Eh, sex toys. Such a weird law. On the other hand, there's always that handy tuber, the zucchini.

M) *nods*

The Delphi Technique, incidentally, is both extremely interesting and rather disturbing. Still... it could be of use, as indeed could be knowing how to defuse it when used against oneself. *nods*

B) Thesis--antithesis--synthesis. I can use this. *cogitates*

M) Then perhaps America will fall, and the individuals who matter will have to arm themselves and be prepared.

By a certain point, one has to stop trying to drag the rest of the world along with one, and come back for them later.

The thing that really makes me mad is that a law like that really is only peanalizing women, because how many men sit there with a dildo to diddle themselves?

Zucchini/Cucumber/Banana/Coke bottle..while all SHAPED correctly, is really unhygenic - not to mention unsafe - to use, even if you slap a condom on it first. (and don't even get me started on putting glass there. I mean, we do realize that wanking involves a lot of squeezing, yes? *rolls her eyes at those idiot girls*.)

Laws like this one were designed by the uptight brigage. *gasp. shock. horror* people do what? Noooo... really.

Wanking for girls is tough to begin with (or maybe that's just a me thing), but having toys and such, make it easier!

....'sides, girls will just go out and buy one of those "massagers"....

I think you'd have to have a vagina of steel to break a glass bottle... Unless you're humping it against a concrete floor, I think breakage would be least of your worries.

But I agree, this is unfair to women, since most men have their prefered sex toys attached to their arms.

(TMI? I guess I'll say it anyway).

Ahh, but then wanking would be easy, God forbid. :) They want wanking to be ..eheheheh.. hard.

M) Everyone imagines that they want enlightenment, but those with views that such enlightenment conflicts with are prone to reject it. One cannot force another to see things one's own way, only try to appeal to their mental facilities.
