Well, there's no really snappy remark I can make about this: A teacher of Sunday School for 54 years was fired from her job, because of a literal interpretation of 1 Timothy. Yep, glad to see such progressive thought is here. The church does claim that there are other issues at stake here, too, but the fact that the quote was even mentioned suggests that it had a hand in the decision.

Are there plans being put in place to attack Iran without provocation? The cynical attitude of the piece does resonate, but that may be a monkeysphere problem more than anything else - since one can only understand to a certain limit, even with compression and shortcutting, there's still a "Them" that's unaware and not fighting, either because they disagree or are oblivious. In other cases, that such plans are even on the table make me wonder what it would do to set them off. And what kind of quagmire might result. And whether we'll even care.

Buying phones is not terrorism. Is looking like one is of Arabic descent? Although I do wonder what was going on with the buying of phones in bulk - reselling them on eBay or in another state for profit?

Snakes in a motherf**king theater. The poisonous kind. This is not a case of life imitating art, as the article suggests, because I somehow suspect that Snakes on a Plane never gets anywhere close to art.

The latest in corporate technique - Spamigation. Or, the technique of suing people in bulk, offering settlements that will let the corporation profit but will be dastardly expensive to the recipient, and using the settlements to basically pay out anyone who actually takes the corporation to court and wins. It's despicable.

Banana phone cover for cell phones.. Just set the ringtone to Crazy Frog and you'll be all set. Also good for the "I can't hear you, I have a banana in my ear!" joke. But only once.

Anyway, more work tomorrow, so bedtime now.
A phrase to pass along - If there is someone on your friends list who makes your world a better place just because they exist and who you would not have met without the Internet, then post this same sentence in your journal. Or post a comment here. Or just smile and be happy. I'm not picky. This counts for my reading audience as well as those people who I talk to in other media. You really do help make my world brighten and fend off the angst of loneliness.

I had a sinking feeling some jerk-off might try to bring snakes in to the theatre. I just can't believe they actually used poisonous snakes!

The saddest thing about the invasion of Iraq was a quote by JFK (IIRC). Paraphrased, it was "The United States has never invaded another country without cause." Well, we've now proven him wrong. And we just might do it again.

I heard on NPR this evening that El Prezidente ordered the Marines to recall 1,000 soldiers because they're not getting enough volunteers to go to Iraq.

Uhm. ok. so we're going to shoot first, ask qustions later? Oi. The thing with the whole paranois about another september 11 happening seems to be a bit far-fetched. I mean, it's been five years, wouldn't something have happened by now?

also, yes. here's someone who makes my world better...several someone's...*you* included :p!

WHAT?!??! That is the most ridiculous thing I have EVER read...do they also cut off people's arms for stealing and stuff? Since that's a literal translation? Or the bit about fathers lying down with their sons? AARRRGGGGHHHH. No wonder I'm not a huge fan of Christianity anymore.

also, phone one stilldoesn't work.
