A day spent mostly in idleness, it's true, it's true. Finished off the story mode of Xenosaga II (With the third and last episode released last month, I thought it was time to actually finish the darn thing.) and made a little progress into the postgame quests. I still don't necessarily like the battle mechanics of the game, and the lack of money available means that one of the sidequests will take a very, very long time to finish, because we have to give up items to reduce a debt.

Going to happy hour may give you a better career. Those who drink socially apparently do better in jobs and careers. Perhaps it's because there are a lot of functions where people are hobonobbing that involve alcohol?

Ladies and gentlemen, meet a bionic woman. Thought-controlled limbs, whoo-hoo! If we could get the casing to look a little more natural, and maybe work a bit on some smaller pieces so that we could house it all in something that looked like an arm, and we're good to go.

The BBC has an article wondering whether increased availability of emergency contraception has actually dropped the abortions rate in the UK. There's still sound advice in there - contraception used before sex is definitely a good idea when it comes to avoiding pregnancies and other associated health risks.

Be careful of your spinach at the moment E. coli outbreak traced to bagged spinach. So make sure that your greens are disease free by preparing them accordingly.

A commentary on the difficulties of the current copyright law in the Internet age, entitled, somewhat appropriately, How Copyright Broke. It broke when copyright holders tried to enforce unwieldy licensing on the people buying the works - and the restrictions that come about on copyrighted material that prevent the natural inclination of people to share things like documents, books, and music.

If someone asks you a question, you might be better able to solve it if you turn your head away from the questioner and think about the question. It may not look particularly polite, but it might help your brain get in gear. Makes sense to me - I'll look at something else while considering problems when I'm not directly scribbling or reading.

Tomorrow should prove to be equally idle, although more sport-watching involved there. I'll probaboy do some reading here and there, too, but I actually try to read not too far in advance so that I don't forget the relevant things when it comes to class discussion. Such are the advantages of knowing your own schedule, I think. Anyway, bed and the wonders therein.

That, and make it able to crush steel beams. Then we'll be good to go. >:D

Gaze aversion - intersting. But what about the students who are simply daydreaming? I mean, how is the teacher going to be able to tell which students are thinking hard, and which have their heads in the clouds?

So, think they'll develop a bionic foot and when can I apply for one? :p

In regards to the abortion rate in the UK - I wonder if it's more that women aren't sure if they need to take Plan B or not. I mean, it's not something you'd take after everytime you have sex, and if the woman isn't aware that the condom broke or something like that, she wouldn't know to take it.

Drinkers may earn more than non-drinkers, but they're spending their extra money on the booze, so I bet it all evens out anyway.

I must have skipped over that part of the article. Then again, this morning i was completely out of it (As you saw), so it's possible I overlooked it.

I guess that would be possible for drinkers to still make more money, but even if they only spend $10 at the bar, they have to pay a tip for the bartender/waitress, pay for their transportation, probably pay for a meal or snack, and I'm sure they probaby buy liquer for their homes as well. Really, giving a drinker and extra $100 is a bad idea. They should give it to me instead, since I'm poor.

Thought-controlled prosthetics, huh?

So when do we get to play Angelic Layer?

Angelic Layer is a game using thought-controlled battle dolls. "Deuses" channel their thoughts and emotions to make their Angel battle their opponent in tournaments.

In the anime, the dolls were originally designed as prototypes for thought-controlled prosthetics, but the scientist who developed them blew his entire budget on the little doll and couldn't get funding for the real thing. So he decided to market the dolls as toys, invented a craze, and used the profits to fund his research.

It's a fun series.
