Another week finish't.
Sep. 25th, 2006 02:14 amLaundry was the majority of the day today - two games of Literati with
2dlife, to which I got whipped again, both times. Blaargh - I can't make the words that he can. If I get the chance to play him at Scrabble, I think he'll toast me.
Something every college student should know, if they don't already. Sleeping properly will help your test scores.
Some crafts that are enjoyable to look at: A shrine to Fate (and probably, to some degree, Eris), a bar built from old books from the Stanford library, some tips on making corrugated cardboard wallpaper, and Super Mario Bros. themed glass charms, my personal favorite of the bunch.
A tract on the absurdity of declaring war on a concept - although couched in very nondiplomatic language.
Fox apparently tried to paint Clinton as soft on terror when they had him on one of their shows. What did Clinton do about it? Clinton reamed Fox a new one. For some reason, the Democrats out of office look better with time. Maybe this will help other people realize that it might be worth putting someone with a real liberal view into the office?
The feeling that someone's behind you may be related to brain stimulation. Hrm. Yet again, the brain is a many-splendid thing.
Getting my Letterman on, for a tiny bit, The Top 10 Ugliest, Most Embarassing Fashion Trends of the last 25 years. Agreement on all of those, and there are so many, many more things that could rightfully be in that list. Like slap bracelets, those strange shirt-holding thingies, and most of the 80s hairstyles.
Doing the one thing that will cause me to lose any argument, on the Internet. I'm invoking Hitler! But to make fun of him. And so are these people.

Date: 2006-09-25 06:37 am (UTC)I want to know how she made the mario charms, because I'd love to make them for you, but so far, no tutorial. I have a feeling they're clay, in which case you will never get them because I hate working with clay.
please make this headache go away?

Date: 2006-09-25 07:34 pm (UTC)On the Hitler book...I'm very torn. On one hand, I'm very happy that Germany is finally losening up and able to poke fun at Hitler, but on the other hand I just don't find the jokes about hitler or the concentration camps humerous.
Loved the fashion list, but i do need to defend legwarmers! They're good for keeping your legs warm when you are forced to wear skirts in the winter and you have a long walk from your car to the office! I took them off pretty much as soon as I got into the office, but they were great for keeping me warm on the walk. I wore them in the 80's too, but that's because I was a dancer, and again, you needed someway of keeping your legs warm hen you had to wear stupid leotards and tights!

Date: 2006-09-25 08:31 pm (UTC)Re: Hitler, I think it's more the idea that not all Germans were for the Reich, and one of the ways they could let off steam about it was by telling jokes about it. Of course, one would have to be very careful to be a stand-up comedian at that point, but the idea is showing that the Germans were not monlithically in favor of Hitler.
Legwarmers for the uses of keeping one's legs warm are forgivable. As a fashion statement, however, they bomb, big time.

Date: 2006-09-25 08:37 pm (UTC)*nods* I see the point behind the book, it's just that with having family members who perished in concentration camps, I just can't laugh at the jokes.
Haha well, its like wearing workout clothes outside of the gym. Kind of silly.
Also, I wonder if the Zubas pants are similar to Jam pants? By anycnahce do you know when the parachute pants were popular? I cannot recall actually seeing anyone wearing them, but I know what they are.
