silveradeptToday, I did remember what I needed to - which is a great, great thing. As it turns out, one of the thesis-writers I was giving advice to was in the Magic in the Ancient World class that I took in my junior year of undergraduate. She claimed that I saved her life in that course with my mad research skillz, showing off the right places to look and the interesting material that resulted. Apparently, I was good enough with the library system then that I could perform grade-saving sweetness.
Liquid restrictions relaxing. Although not nearly enough, as it's only letting people bring things they've bought in the "Secure" areas on. Still, maybe this is a prelude to a return to sanity?

annaonthemoon keeps linking me to crafty places, where ingenuity and stitching (among other things) rules supreme. I don't have the skills for it, but I can see her making some of these things. Like a kitty-ears stocking cap. Or Nintendo-themed cross-stitch, or Nintendo-image buttons, perfect for your messenger bag. Although that's not quite as impressive as the mod-job that produces an optical mouse with the casing of an NES controller. But it certainly doesn't have the sheer dedication (insanity?) of the parent that painted and crafted a completely Harry Potter-themed bedroom for her daughter.
A blog that takes a look at one of the potentially pedestrian inventions of the world - History of the Button. Standby buttons, train buttons, sleep buttons, all of those things. Paired with the surreal idea of 5-card Nancy, you can probably do some very interesting things.
In the aftermath of multiculturalism, there are some people who are lost and bewildered. Those people sometimes make strange suggestions, like that a biracial child is not celebrating their white heritage enough. Actually, they suggested that the child was being brainwashed to ignore her white half. And thus, in properly mocking tradition, the author of Emergency Code Whitey writes a game plan with objectives on how to ensure that the child is given proper exposure to her white cultural heritage.
The President made another mistake - he opened his mouth. Apparently, the conflict in Iraq is "just a comma". Either this means it's a pause before something else happens, or the President didn't learn his parts of speech. (He appears to have learned the parts of a speech, and can probably do well when he's on the script or reading off it. But if he veers, even for a bit, it looks like the whole thing comes crashing down.) Gives liberals and the rest of the world yet another reason to either pity us or laugh their arses off at us.
blacktigr drew this to my attention, and I thank her for it. It's a theory that says checking e-mail is addictive because it doesn't produce positive results consistently. Quite possibly. In my case, though, I think I only get click-refreshy when I don't have anything else to do. If there are projects to be done or assignments to be pwned, then I'm usually working on those. Which probably says that I need more of a life than I have. We're working on that part. Starting with the trip down to Georgia in a couple days. (Yeah, haven't said much about it because I'm 99% sure it's going to happen, but not 100%, and so, didn't want people getting their hopes up.) Anyway, on that teaser, g'night, everybody.
