I didn't get near as much work done as I wanted to today, as things kept conspiring against my work. Hopefully, tomorrow I will be able to get the segment done that I have wanted to get done for two days now. Of course, there's other things in the way there, too. But those should be fightable. So I suppose, even though I didn't want to, I didn't really get any work done on break. Tomorrow, we go back at it again. And now I'm starting to get a little worried about some projects, just because I'm supposedly paired and haven't heard anything at all from anyone. Definite need to pester professors. And then there's the other stuff I need to get done, too... gyarg. Although I did manage to split a pair of games of Literati with [livejournal.com profile] 2dlife, so all was not totally lost.

Science tells us odd and interesting things. A study of insects concludes the giant ant missions would be real if there was more atmospheric oxygen.

Literature has even odder things. Like a manual on tactics, presented in dreams of defeat.

And then the news tells us about a city being painted pink, and the weird only increases. Moving forward to the point where military people have to clear security requirements before blogging, and it's on the way to weird. When you stumble across what Jeeves is doing these days, surreality almost wants to kick in. When emoness is a cause for threats and bullying, we're primed and ready for launch.

Then we get to the actual news, and we know we've left reality in its entirety. Potential attacks on Iran, with a raging debate in the commentary about whether this is going to happen or not, (By the way, here's some pictures of the beauty of the country.) There's also gag orders on lawyers talking about Guantanamo abuses, and North Korea taking the fear spotlight, while Iraq's casualties are swept under the rug. Moving from one place to another, all according to political schedule?

On brighter and darker notes, the last for tonight - say hello to #118, the latest to join the family. The perhaps more interesting units are some suggestions of warning signs for the future. I especially like it when it goes away from physical harm to mental, memetic, and other harms. Thinking of the future in this way is definitely a positive direction.

Anyway, g'night. Class in the morning.

Do you know who the partner is? Maybe you can contact them directly?
