those "lifestyle centers" are a little weird. I mean, a lot of towns already have a pretty happening downtown that's already established, why do they need these, too?

I'm sure Peddler's Village in Princeton is considered one of these lifestyle centers, and its' been around since the 80's. It was a nice place to visit, but everyone knew it wasn't a "real mall". If you wanted the mall, you drove over to Market Fair, or Quakerbridge. no one actually shopped at Peddler's unless you were made of money.
