silveradeptStill no permanent connection at my house, so I'm here at the library on my day off to put in my hour of time and do a quick update. As noted before, I'm moved in. There will be carpet work on Monday, and then I'll be able to distribute all my stuff into the rooms they were meant to be a part of. I think I also need to send out for a clothes hanger or two so that all the stuff tht should be hung up will be hung up. And books. And such. Must buy clock. Must change name on mailbox. Etc, etc.
Yesterday, the Wolverines continued their campaign to shed the weight of their sunshine fans by losing in a convincing fashion to the University of Oregon ducks. Perhaps without the weight of the bandwagon and expectations, the Wolverines will be able to showcase their talents. We'll see how things turn out next week.
I do get one good thing coming out of this - Jack Thompson believes he can do what the Congress cannot - subpoena the President. As part of his defense from the Florida Bar doing the justifiable thing and debarring him.

sunfell about data shadows - the trail of ourselves we leave on-line - and the ever-instiable marketers that want all that data for their own purposes. We can get the government to stop, and some companies to anonymize, but lots of peopel are afraid that even if they protect themselves, all it takes is a cracker to hit a marketing database and all that work is for nothing, because the marketers are keeping our personal data for themselves so that they can serve us better advertisements.
Anyway, as is usual on days of no 'net, I don't have much more time left, so I think I'll go home and play games. Or something.
