Huh. So very close. But at the end, when all the nation’s fate was on the line, Mega Manning did it. The Michigan Man does not get a perfect run, nor does Doctor Football. Right at the end, it was a low-scoring game, and the Giants won. Several of our field correspondents whooped in joy and lit cigars, believing that the end of the world had just been averted. There’s always a next time, though. Next time...

Quickly before going to bed, then, a small amount of material that will fend off those looking for a link fix. Ready, go.

LJ has added on a new feature - your public posts may be crawled for the "Explore" area and exposed to the wider LJ world at large. Unless, of course, you opt-out. If you didn’t know it was there, though, it would be very tough to opt-out. So now you know.

Excellent example of juxtaposition. Even if The Pirate Bay is being charged with assisting in copyright infringement.

For those who are participating in their elections and caucuses this coming Tuesday, [livejournal.com profile] bradhicks offers up several reasons why not to make Senator Clinton the Democratic nominee.

Listmania: Top Ten Things Environmentalists Need To Learn, apparently, so that they can target campaigns where they will do good and achieve change. More lists in Woldometers which track various important statistical numbers.

Microsoft is putting up a bid to buy Yahoo!. $4.6 billion USD. Interesting. Might mean that yet another service gets absorbed by the M$ giant.

More security theater - Now DHS wants all the gadgetry to be inspected to be sure that it isn't some sort of explosive, so everything out of the bag.

Next to last, oil companies post record profits, thanks to us, the consumers, and the way the supply has fluctuated in price. It really sucks being held over a barrel like that.

And last - bills passed by anti-choicers, including one in Indiana that permits pharmacists to shirk their duties if they believe that a medically-ordered prescription will be used for abortion or suicide, another in Indiana that requires physicians to tell anyone looking for an abortion that life begins at conception and that fetuses feel pain, although it’s been weasel-worded so that it doesn’t look like that, another duty-shirking bill in Pennsylvania, and one in South Dakota that requires a woman to view a sonogram before getting an abortion, although she can waive the sonogram with a signed statement. *headdesk* all around, ladies and gentlemen.

Anyway, bed.

It's because of that game that I've had to stay offline until now and bury my woes in Magic Knights Rayearth & the Genshiken manga I've borrowed. I swear, I'm jinxed! I haven't seen one Pats game all this season to help them not lose. I was sure they could pull it through for the SB so when I saw the ONE game of the season with the Pats, they lose in an exciting 4th quarter.

Of course, I was swearing up a blue streak and getting a bit high in the blood pressure area...so much so that EnglishCookie had to get on me about it. Of course when I had to start second guessing my words, it made my body hurt to hold in my aggression and rage over the Pats playing so badly without swearing. Oh well. At least while there for the game we saw ep. 1 of Kamen Rider Kiva, ep. 1 of The Skull Man, first couple episodes of Gundam X, and the first couple episodes of DemonBane (which thanks to CruelShadow I need to see what with all the Cthultu setups & story tie-ins.)

Kiva's brand-spanking new. It's set up quite a bit like Den-O with in regards to time & multiple iterations of the main Rider.

It mostly focuses on events that happen in 1986 & in 2007. No time travel (so far) but the first episode just seems to switch between the time periods like a yo-yo.

As for Kiva, the henshin device is a sentient chibi-style bat that bites his wrist then hooks up to his belt for transformation into Kiva. It looks like he's got iterations based on Dracula, the Wolfman, Frankenstein's Monster & maybe a couple others, but they've only shown the bat.

The guy's Rider Kick (along with his wheels) is phenomenal! As for new episodes, I'm sure you can get them from TV-Nihon but as for me, I'm biding my time until Vinny's 21st party so Kaiju can get me Madan Senki Ryukendo (which TV-N also subbed) as I requested earlier.
