First things, first. 2003 opened with a victory in the Outback Bowl for Michigan, brining them up to an 8-4 record. Good things were to come later that year.

Winter Term 2003 was an interesting mishmash of stuff. Nothing from that time really sticks out in my head, so although there may have been cool stuff, I don't remember much of it.

ACEN rocked the chibi. And more. I got my Pocket Otaku, and delved further into anime insanity.

Summer vacation got off to an interesting start, as my boss broke her foot on the work site, which required me to help shoulder a large part of the work. Not a bad thing, just interesting. Made me realize just how much I really didn't want her job. But we made it through alive and managed to avoid serious injury... that part comes later.

I got LJ soon after my birthday.

At the end of the summer, [livejournal.com profile] welah came out of the closet. It took me a while to get the handle on that. I'm still not completely sure that I'm 100% okay with this, to be honest, but the more I hear of [livejournal.com profile] tkarrde98, the more I think they'll do well together. I don't want to get in the way.

Fall Semester got off to a good start in my new apartment. My classes were interesting, and although I failed in the design of my own concentration, I did declare as General Studies. I'm an upperclassman now, and I do feel a bit old. Marching band was the same bunch of loveable nuts that make our lives better every day. Professor Williams is a godsend to students. Those who attend U of M, don't let your career go by without taking one of his classes.

I broke two fingers near the end of November playing flag football. They have finally begun to heal themselves. The process will be slow, but I no have an off-season to work with them.

A dear friend of mine went off to Iraq for battle, came back because his father passed away, and may be sent back out sometime soon, once the situation with his family straightens itself out once again.

I cheered my brains out watching the football team earn a spot in the Tournament of Roses, and marched my audition the same day I had my surgery to straighten out my fingers. I'm at Pasadena, but while the band did well, the football team did not. Michigan lost in the Rose Bowl. The trip, aside from that, was still well worth it. I have shook the hand of John Williams and been conducted by him.

My friends have had ups and downs through the year, and all of them seem to be doing better now ([livejournal.com profile] miyabiarashi, I'm still available if you need someone to beat on.) than they were before. There were plays, dramas, movies, pictures, and all sorts of things in this year.

Here's hoping for a good new year.
