More Stuff that I've learned.

No fooling, this is the Stuff that I Learned for the month of April:

1) Camo is a popular pattern here. Being that we're close to military bases, this makes sense. Although I have to say that seeing a child dressed in miniature replica of Dad's military fatigues was more than a mite disturbing.

2) Focus on the Family has a young adult book imprint. Both series that I have seen so far involve young women. Do I really want to know what the contents of said books are?

3) If they think they can get away with it, they'll try.

4) Schedules for construction do not move earlier, only later.

5) People will use the strangest things for bookmarks. Considering it was a Playboy item, though, that may have been all it was really good for.

5b) As a corollary to this and all the other things I've learned, working in a library is never a dull affair. The people prevent it from being that.

6) Wii Golf is still a bit sensitive at all the wrong times.

7) There's got to be a Latter-Day Saints church and/or mission near where I am.

8) They make the flag of Israel in a convenient car size (like the Wings flags you'll see on everyone's vehicle in Detroit these days).

9) I miss thunderstorms. Not the actual storm part, but the sound and lightning of them.

Washington's weather is very boring. Thunderstorm season lasts for a little less than a month.

I love these posts!!

We had a great t-storm here a few weeks ago...I think I remember posting about it and um...yeah.

During the next one, I'll get out and grab the camera to get some good lightning shots if I can.

Oooh, please. I've had it recommended that I get some storm sounds and play them when it rains to see if I can't at least simulate the T-storms.

I miss thunderstorms.

Me too. I never knew that where we grew up was such a hotbed of intense t-storm activity, but there's something of that missing in my soul. All the rain storms around here are just that--rain storms.

Every afternoon in August, these massive supercells come roaring over the mountains and flood the Front Range with violent, wrath-of-the-gods-type storminess. I mean, frequent hits that would shake the walls of the house.

In Spohell, if you sleep through the one piddling excuse for a thunderstorm we get, you have to wait a whole year to see another one.

Indeed. Some light, some furious, but all of them lacking the crackle-and-boom that is characteristic of the thunderstorm. When it rains hard, I keep expecting to see the flashes and hear the booms, but nothing happens.

The storms will get interesting here in about a month. I recall many thunderstorms in June when I was working at The Creek.
