Here's another one of those things we think about at work:

Out on the floor, there's a display marked "True Lives in Fiction", which carries fiction about Nefertiti, Empresses of Japan, and the like. And then there's one there that I think doesn't quite fit the bill.

Christ the Lord: Road to Cana.

Should I start singing "One of these things is not like the other" now?

I'm sure someone named Yeshua lived in that region at that time and preached something fancy. Whether he was actually the son of God (or a god) is a completely different matter altogether.

Yeshua was a pretty common name back then, and to say that NO ONE had that name at that specific time would be ludicrous. But to meet all of the criteria (Yeshua, son of Mary married to Joseph, etc.) would seem to be somewhat far-fetched. The stories we see in the New Testament are probably an amalgamation of different people and mythologies, exaggerated over time.

So technically, by stretching the imagination, you can fit the book into "true lives in fiction."
