Good morning. And to start, the work of John William Waterhouse, containing some artistic nudity.

Beyond that, the fact that Taco Bell doen't meet the absurdly low standards for their filling to be called meat says something both about the relentless pressure to save money...and something about what kind of products we're putting in our bodies that can say they are something they don't even have to be fifty percent of.

Out in the world today, Shell Oil's spills are not limited to the United States - Nigeria has been the site of several thousand spills.

In Egypt, the al-Jazeera newtowrk offices in the country have had their credentials yanked in addition to the attempts at a countrywide communications blackout. That said, the people are finding more than a few creative ways to get their message out. Furthermore, despite being deployed, the military has publicly said they will not use any force against the protestors. This probably gives more strength to the voices calling for the resignation of Mr. Mubarak. The people of Egypt are settling in for a potential siege of the people versus the government, stocking food, water, and other supplies in anticipation of shortages.

Unlike the official government statements so far, the columnists are never shy at giving their opinions. Nonie Darwish says that despite the apparent secularity of Mr. Mubarak, his regime was really controlled by The Bloodthirsty Religion and its Sharia legal code, because everyone has to appease The Bloodthirsty Religion and do what they say because they're afraid of being suicide-bombed into nothingness. The Washington Times wants to raise the spectre of the Iran hostage crisis and paint President Obama as President Carter, reincarnated, and stuck in a similar situation where he loses an ally to the Bloodthirsty Religion by being too timid about showing his support for the democracy advocates. Apparently, it's a given in certain circes that the next regime in place will be merely a puppet of terrists like the Muslim Brotherhood, because of all the proxies in place and the options are all going to be anti-Western. They're Muslims, they have to be anti-U.S. and anti-West. "Everyone Knows" that. If that's the case, then staying with the strongman is probably the best option...which means Israel. To further the attacks, Mr. Dowd gives us three possible options - Iran of 1979, Eastern Europe of 1989, or doing better than the poor showing of 2009 (in his opinion).

The Dead Pool Orchestra claims John Barry, composer, best known for work on the James Bond franchise, at 77.

Domestically, it shows how different things were before when what is now standard operating procedure seems wondrous, and the act of burying a husband is a point of pride. How far we've come, but how far we have to go here in the United States. That said, Barbara Bush, daughter of the previous administrator, will come out in favor of marriage equality.

The reauthorized PATRIOT Act allows United States government agents to carry biological weapons and toxins, which may be a violation of the Biological Weapons Convention that the US is a signatory to.

A Georgia lawmaker has proposed to do away with drivers' licenses, claiming they're used mostly for state agents to oppress people's right to travel freely. As opposed to, say, certifying that someone can be reasonably expected not to kill people and cause damage with a high-speed motor vehicle?

The next time someone claims that Muslims only plant bombs in the United States, point them at this account fo someone who wanted to blow up a big mosque in Dearborn, Michigan.

Stories of Gulf seafood being clean of toxins associated with the oil spill and the Corexit dispersant aren't true, based on recent testing of the seafood.

even though the numbers aren't kept very accurately, the number of soldiers dead by suicide for 2010 is greater than the numbers of those killed in the Iraq or Afghanistan conflicts. Possibly a lot higher if the numbers were kept accurately. How is war changing those who fight it?

Another judge has ruled against the individual mandate of the health care bill, and then declared the entire lawto be unconstitutional because he didn't believe the individual mandate could be cut loose. This issue will end up in the Supreme Court, and we have both the for rulings and the against rulings to draw from. That won't stop conservative papers and opinions from praising the opinion that falls in their favor, especially if the judge used documents and decisions that happened early on in the country's history.

Only 47 percent of those who are working age have full-time jobs, despite the official unemployment rate hanging around ten percent. Which means a lot of people employed part time or not in the official calculations at all. (The article then goes further on to talk about accounting shenanigans and other ways that the government and major banks are still wroking together to make sure they stay whole and the people of the country get stuck with any losses.)

Last out of this section, plenty of gun control advocates would like the President to say something, anything, about the issue of guns in the country, in the wake of the Tuscon shooting.

In technology, looking back at a bandage that made it easier to treat battlefield traumas, an attempt to use holograms to provide the illusion of security.

The United States Justice Department wants to implement rules requiring mandatory retenion of data, ostensibly to catch criminals, but with lots of potential for surveillance and other Bad Things done to the populace by the government. Although, depending on which company you're tlaking about, they may already by helping the government out lots without your knowledge or consent. And some of the government agencies are already up to plenty of bad things all by themselves.

A Finnish regulator has called for Apple to issue refunds to consumers that bought iPhones to work in the country...where the temperatures go below the recommended temps for operation. Speaking of Apple, the walled garden is planning on becoming a fortress with a moat - only App Store apps can be used on the various iProducts. Which gives much more incentive to both jailbreak and/or go to some other platform.

Google says Microsoft is using their search results, and designs an experiment to prove it, which is successful. Microsoft, of course, has been denying it all the time.

Last for the section, a blind man successfully drove a car independently on a road course at Daytona, dodging both stationary and randomly moving obstacles.

In opinions, The Wall Street Journal expresses significant disdain for Newt Gingrich appearing at an ethanol panel and shilling for them, figuring that someone of his education would just know better than to have anything to do with such money-wasting, performance-reducing subsidies. The knives are coming out early.

Arnold Ahlert believes the Obama administration wants to be able to kill the American internet whenever they want to, with whatever flimsy excuse of a crisis they can use.

The WSJ is overflowing with their praise for Representative Ryan as Budget Committee head, waving their pom-poms at his heearing on the "true" costs of Obamacare, demanding merely true or false answers from the person in charge of Medicare so as to have to avoid nuance, explanation, or any possibility of introducing doubt or qualification to those answers.

Last for tonight, an earnest attempt to convince all of us of both the reality of the Christian Hell and the certainty that all of us are headed there for eternal torment, apart from paradise, if we do not convert and stay Chrisitan. Based on the words of a person that have been re-edited and compiled over time and are increasingly becoming devoid of their historical contexts, unfortunately.

It's good to hear about the Gulf Coast seafood.

Looks like Taco Bell is mostly putting oats and soy in as filler... the sand (silicon dioxide) is probably just a small amount, since it was at the end of the list.

Not that sand is very appetizing.

The "anti-dusting agent" sounds more suspicious to me than the sand, since they didn't want to list what it was.

p.s. So, essentially, you could make oatmeal with sea water in it and get more or less what Taco Bell is putting in their meat products. Heh.
