Of course, the idea behind it is to promote the Dreamwidth platform by providing it with exclusive content not found elsewhere, hopefully getting more people to utilize the invite codes (of which we have many) and perhaps give their money to a smaller, more intimate operation instead of a SixApart behemoth.
Your mileage may vary as to whether you wish to jump ship, or merely to maintain a place in both worlds. You might use one for general conversation and another for the Advanced Class discussions. Perhaps you like finer-grained controls and you'd rather be able to read users without having to also let them have access to your private materials. In any case, the point of the matter, now that the shilling is done, is the following:
As a mostly news-and-linkspam blogger, while I'm certain that many of you enjoy that content (and its occasional forays into Special Comment territory for more rant-styled analysis), there are several other things outside of the news and politics that people enjoy.
So what I'd like from you are questions - what about my life, hobbies, interests, profession, and other aspects outside of the news and politics would you like me to write about? (ETA: This includes asking me what I think about other topics - I'm mostly looking to write about things I haven't written about before.) I don't guarantee long-form commentary, and I do reserve the right to restrict or refuse to answer any questions that I don't feel comfortable answering in a public or semi-public forum.
Here's your chance to get to know me better, if that's something you actually would like to do. If you don't want to post your question in an open forum, you can message me or ask me to screen it as soon as it goes up.
