For today: Vote, even if you believe voting will not produce required fundamental change. After all, why not try to put in office the person who can be manipulated or who might help you achieve your ends?

Tomorrow? Tomorrow, scheme, dream, and work to make your reality true.

Today, vote. Especially as a giant fuck you to those that believe you do not deserve to vote without hardship.

Direct Action for you, most definitely. Also, if there is someone around you of age to vote but isn't or hasn't, kick them until they do. Repeatedly. Start with the shins.

I would like to point out I'm a Canadian citizen ( so the previous question was somewhat of a trap and entirely tongue-in-cheek), but I wholeheartedly agree with kicking asses into action.

Thanks. Also, Federal elections happen at least every...five years, is it, so you always have a chance to change the coalition when you're turn comes.

I'm trying my best! Unfortunately we have a first past the post system so my vote mostly goes unnoticed when the time comes, but I try my hardest :)

And grats on the lesser evil. I think.. lol. Lets hope the ninnies in congress get thier shit together and let the man do his work.

Oh, yeah. First past the post pretty well guarantees your riding goes to either the Government or the Opposition.

Yeah, we elected the lesser evil - a centre-rightist instead of a fringe rightist. And hopefully we'll be able to do work, but I suspect the fringe rightists in the Congress will return to their usual habit of obstruct and blame. It's going to be a long four years of watching actual work die because the Opposition believes gridlock is better than compromise.

I'd start up a platform about congress being a public service. Incoming heresy! What if congress were a part time minimum wage position? As much as it'd eventually grow back into the behemoth .... wouldn't it be wonderful if that position reflected what a government was supposed to be? Not necessarily thrust poverity onto these people... but have the job actually reflect the care, maintenance and guardianship of the country and it's people?

But cat herds will be cat herds. <3

Would probably be easier to simply bar sometime from serving in the legislative office or the Presidency if their income for the last X years were more than a certain amount. The idea of it being part-time and minimum wage would be a good idea, but would restrict it to the very wealthy. That was the original idea from Constitutional times, which was scrapped I'm favor of a more mob-like rule.

I know in reality congress is not the sole income.
